Surely there's only so much length you can cover with a garrison of 100 men. they want to pressure Castle Black on both sides of the wall to keep them more spread? although they should have tried to send as many men as possible over the wall to join in on the raiding party

I counted a bit sloppy though. Hard to tell in some of the wide moving shots which extra was supposed to be a wildling or a nw man. At this tempo they would really only hold another day or two.

Yeah I was more making fun of the fact that the Spider's spies were able to communicate what Dany did in the previous episode over the sea when one would expect the news to travel much slower.

If I'm not mistaken only 3-4 of them died on the wall; all of the other deaths were in the castle. Now that there are no more wildlings south of the wall there won't be such a slaughter in subsequent attacks.

I'm pretty sure Mance could take the castle in a matter of hours if he just sent his army to the gate. Of course he would lose a lot of men at the choke point to oil + fire, but still. He could send them like 50 by 50 or so to avoid that. The corridor makes the higher number army useless but it would still fall eventually. On the other hand, Leónidas and the spartans would probably hold that corridor forever Mance just does not know the NW numbers and sent a first small wave to test their defences before committing.

Not to mention that he was a member of the Night's Watch himself, so he has rough estimates of their numbers. That warg was with Tormund/Styr/Ygritte and co., not Mance. Although one would assume he has his own wargs checking shit out.

Not to mention that he was a member of the Night's Watch himself, so he has rough estimates of their numbers. Mance was a man of the night's watch many, many years ago. The wildlings weren't even sure which castles are manned. The biggest problem is that the inner gate is broken and the outer gate is a bit damaged. Also 2 giants could probably lift it up and hold it open for all 100.000 wildlings to enter. Being safe on top of the wall is going to do jacksquat for the nights watch.

Hell it would have been the perfect opportunity to show bran and co with them seeing the fight / wildling army / fire while they made their way through/past it all. So, S class television, B class GoT for me.
