people whining about shit that hasn't happened? jon snow won't kill qhorin? or he will kill qhorin but to save ygritte?
what i meant was that probably they will hook back up with the rest of the scouting party and get caught by the wildlings and rattleshirt or someone will want to kill ygritte for 'betraying' the free folk for the crows. jon will jump up and say no im with you and then fight with qhorin, instead of it being qhorin's plan. which would disappoint me. not that qhorin will want to kill ygritte and jon will have to kill qhorin to save her.

Maybe you shouldn't expect the HBO series ADAPTATION of the novels to be page for page what is in the books. The story is cohesive and engaging , the characters are well played and the settings are excellent. If all you are going to do is compare every episode to the book then I doubt you are going to have any time left to actually just sit back and enjoy a TV SHOW.

I think you missed something...

But ya, now that Theon has killed Ser Rodrik; Ramsay is going to have to do some pretty evil shit to become the most hated character. I guess how he goes about sacking Winterfell could accomplish this.

well as far as I see ygritte thread is not really that far apart from real story, 1 she can escape, Jon can let her go, or they get intercepted by wildlings and then Jon has to fight Qhorin during which he indicates he'll die for greater good I don't like that spy volantese girl though, I mean even in books there was really no mention of Robb's loved one till he was married and Tywin's plans only came in later, they could've stuck to story there. It's quite understandable that they changed harrenhall's part since otherwise Tywin wouldn't really have a spot in the show. King's landing is a bit messy though, this riot is a bit out of the blue since everything about hunger was mentioned off-hand and then suddenly we see high septon (who I don't think was even introduced as that) just being quartered and subsequently eaten. I think they should've added a bit more explanation about the circumstances in King's landing, both hunger and religon (sparrows). Dany change is fine, she'll burst into tower of the undying and roar on top of her lungs DRACARYS (or w/e fire name is ) and go on a rampage through the tower. Barristan can still show in Quarth when she comes out of the tower. I expect him to be quite different, as we basically only saw him in his armor, while he will probably be presented in a travel robe and a staff like it was in the books Littlefinger, well they didn't really change his sotry, they just tell it in full It appears they'll fully cut Tullys out of the picture and Bolton out of Harrenhall since he wasn't with Robb's army and now he is. Winterfell stuff, it's pretty decent, I mean if they added all the Reek stuff and Walders and Reeds there would be just too much time taken away from scenes than non-readers appreciate.

And maybe you should also expect something more from these writers that are adapting the story. If they do manage to miss the difference between Jon being told to play turncloak and actually being a turncloak (even if he repents later) then it is just bad. The example you quoted and then try to defend the show is the worse possible example.
I agree that changes need to be made and some make more sense then the books but don't blindly defend the show. There is a reason why so many people suddenly got pissed after this episode.

I would say it's a pretty close call between him and The Mountain they are the characters that have absolutely no redeeming qualities and are there just so we can point and say "That's the bad guy" /pacino

He still loves her mother and maybe believes he could get her back someday. But atleast he never tried to harm her other daughter. In other words he is playing a bigger game and has no interest in helping Tywin or the Lannisters as long it doesn't help him. He wanted to "fuck" Ned because he stole his girlfriend.

I would say Ramsay is the worst of the worst, by quite a bit.
I can't follow the hidden game with Reek either, I read the fifth book in english and I missed several other things for sure (not my first language). Maybe when it's translated to spanish I will reread

The whole warlock situation is kind of weird now too. It wouldn't make a whole ton of sense for Dany to just go in there alone, considering they slaughtered her people. And killing the Dothraki warrants a little more of a response than simply taking back the eggs. You'd think it might even prompt a reaction from Qarth in general, considering it's blatantly criminal.
The changes so far aren't irreconcilable yet, but I'm concerned that this is just the beginning of overhauling tons of plot elements. I still have a sneaky suspicion that Jon and Qhorin won't meet up and he'll just be forced to run off with Ygritte to the wildlings, considering it's a pretty easy way to speed up the plot and seems to fit well with the changes so far. It would completely fuck up his justification later, making him a good deal different than the books. But I'll try to remain optimistic.

Obviously she wants her dragons back, and she has neither an army to take them, nor any supporters. In fact, without her dragons she's really just a lost girl with no reason whatsoever to give her the army (or ships) she wants. So if she is told to visit the warlocks alone to get her dragons back, she will, no matter the dangers.

actually she could have whole Quarth as allies since no one likes warlocks and they definitely don't want dragons in warlocks' hands but in their own, well it should be interesting how this sory proceeds nontheless

I was thinking to save the Jojen and Meera situation they could possible say Jojen had a GreenDream of a SummerWolf somewhere up North and it would explain why they were waiting for them ahead on the road possibly somewhere before the Queen tower (the tower the queen visited with her dragon and where Jon makes his get away from the Wildlings).

This makes sense. Those characters could be introduced into season 3 fluidly enough. I hope they do something like this.

Well is Qarth really going to condone the warlocks murdering her people and stealing her dragons? Xaro's an influential ally too. He should be pretty pissed considering his goal is a dragon, at least in the books.

Worst bullshit ever. There are many things they change that it's possible to find an explanation for by remembering the demand for strengthening the much shorter narrative.
"The girl never wept. Young as she was, Myrcella Baratheon was a princess born." "When the time came to part, it was Prince Tommen who criend, and Myrcella who gave him comfort."
What could possibly be the reason for changing this to 'poor, crying little princess being shipped off'? Worst low of the series yet. Really fucking bad, completely compromises the original work.

I feel bad for you.
Also I hope you realize that GRRM is working very closely with the writers, especially when it comes to the script. To ADAPT his story to fit into the style that it takes to make a compelling television series. George has worked in television before so he knows that things will need to be changed and reworked while still trying to maintain the integrity of whats important.
Myrcella crying isn't important. The fact that you got so worked up over something that is so petty really makes me feel bad for you. You should probably stop watching the show if you are just going to lash out when it's not page for page what happens in the book.

Without the narration it would be hard to express the same thing. If she was just chillin in the boat looking unfazed by the situation people would just think she didn't really care. Maybe for her it's just a fun vacation.
Is it really important that her character be developed? I mean she has all of 3 lines in the entire series. She's basically an object for other peoples political schemes.

Now THIS is some high-quality trolling. Well done, sir! I took it seriously right up to the last word. :-)
As a really big fan of the books, I think the best way to take the HBO adaptation is as a retelling of the story from a different storyteller. In much the same way you could hear different versions of a folk tale depending on who was telling it (or which time they were telling it), this is just a different telling of the Song of Ice and Fire. Some details are different, but the characters are generally the same, and the major events aren't going to be changed.
Thinking about Bran/Theon's story, I'm guessing it'll be Dagmar who suggets the Miller's boys. (I hope it's not Theon's idea.) As for Jon, I imagine he and his "captive" will be caught by Rattleshirt, and to keep him alive, Yggritte will claim him to be a traitor. When they're find Qhorin, Rattleshirt, who won't believe this, will make John kill them. While they're dueling, Half-Hand will convince John to kill him and continue to play the ruse. So they'll end up in the same spot.
