They didn't need him and so a straight first would be overpayment. NJ on the other hand needed someone good since Brodeur is on his last legs and they had pretty much zero goalie depth due to how good and long he played.

What else are they going to do, they realize that there isnt some quick fix in the wings so they are preparing fans for the long haul by trotting out the most beloved Canuck they can find. Vancouver might be a one sport town but the fan base that actually pays the brutal prices is pretty band-wagony

It would have looke dumb, STL believes that they are a playoff contender but that the brutalization they experienced at the hands of the Kings wasnt caused by the basic make up of their 3 2nd lines but because of Halak so getting out there and trading a first pick for a kid who has literally 0 playoff series wins would have looked terrible. At least Miller was logical in the 'he has big game experience' mantra that will look really awkward if Miller keeps getting pumped 4 goals a game while the offense continues to be invisible.

pretty decent game though. Monster had a hell of a save late in the game. Pitt better pray their defense/MAF pick it up a notch in the playoffs. I definitely do not see them being on the same level as Boston. Their bottom six also sucks hard. e: that game was hilarious from the last minute on. Couple big ot saves, and then a Hasek save from maf, and a hilarious goal by jokinen

Then he goes and gives u p the garbage goal he just gave to Perry with seconds left. Short side back hand. That angle should have never even been open. hes not weird, hes a fucking asshole who combined with his lumpy headed buddy miller cost me my fantasy season. i literally lost to a guy who plays random backups who are being played in the late games like Ramo or Greiss or Gibson. fuck both those guys.

EDIT: At this point, I don't see how the Sharks start him over Stalock going into the playoffs. Niemi has been dogshit for months. Whatever the problem is, he's obviously not going to fix it this year.
