You've been misinformed...Jordan is not the greatest jump shooter ever. edit: I'll preemptively give names since I'm going to bed: Allen, Miller, Nash, Mullin, Petrovic and Ronaldo Blackman all come to mind.

Not to mention he says "easy points" yet they usually come after being hacked by a professional athlete, after just making a drive to the lane. There are no easy points in the NBA Playoffs. Ask Lebron James if his game 7 vs Boston was "easy points" and he'll probably laugh and point to the bruises he has around his shoulders. Take the clippers out of the equation, and the league average is probably around 77%, thats pretty damn good, only 4 teams shoot a higher % than that, and 8 teams shoot 77%.

Reggie, Ray, Drazen, and a plethora of other quality shooters like, Dell Curry, Steve Nash and Dirk, and many others who have near perfect, if not perfect, shooting form. (Anthony Morrow, I had such high hopes for you, why do you bite at every pump fake?! ![]()

Most of those guys are pure 3 point shooters, though. Jordan's got 10+ PPG over all of those guys, and a higher overall FG% than almost all of them (While there's a case to be made for efficiency of Mullin and Petrovic's higher FG%, keeping that high a percentage is impossible when you take 5 more shots a game over a long career and it's pretty explainable why Jordan is less than 0.01% worse than either). Maybe I should've phrased it as pure scorer since Jordan's scoring was definitely a lot more than his jump shot. My bad in that case.

I don't think a person in the world would argue against Jordans ability to score, that being said, Lebrons ability to score is better than Durants.

Not really? 3 scoring titles in a row on a 5 year career compared to Lebron's 1 in 9. Lebron's a streaky jumpshooter who's just really efficient at attacking the rim. Lebron's overall game sets him apart from Durant, not his ability to score.

Also scoring titles don't tell you much about someone's ability to score when taken without context. LeBron is playing alongside Wade (taking both of them out of the scoring race) and he still puts up monster scoring numbers on ridiculous efficiency. LeBron is a better scorer than Durant, the same way Wade is a better scorer than almost everyone else outside of Durant and LeBron.

Lebron is widely regarded as a better scorer than Durant, just look at eFG% from this year, and every year (except for maybe 2010 when Durant was going absolutely nuts in fg%). Here, Ill do the looking up for you, since i like stats to prove my point, rather than opinions. eFG% for Lebron James, the past 4 years. 2008-09, .530, 2009-10, .545, 2010-2011, .541 2011-2012 .554 (wow, that is fucking incredible) For Durant 2008-09, .510 2009-10, .514 2010-2011, .509 2011-2012 .547 Looks like Durant this year, finally put up "Lebron-esque" numbers, but just came shy to actually trumping the king. We can even look at TS% and see who this supports. For LBJ 2008-09, .591 2009-10, 604 2010-2011, .594 2011-2012 .605 for KD35 2008-09, .577 2009-10, .607 2010-2011, .589 2011-2012 .610 Wow, for Durant being the "better shooter" their numbers are eerily similar, lets check their averages to see how close they really are. Lebron is .5975 Durant is .59575 God damn thats close, so essentially they shoot the same %, but Lebron is more effective as scoring, hey what do you know, Lebron is a better scorer than Durant.

And coolio, didn't know what eFG% was before actually (which evidently is a pretty major gap in basic bball knowledge), so thanks for posting those stats [so that I'd look them up]. You learn something new every day!

You learn something new every day! Use FG% as a baseline comparison in almost all scoring areas. Use efg% when you want to give extra weight to 3pt shooting, and even better when comparing guys who play the same role. TS% is good for accounting for Free Throws but imo it's the least useful of all 3.
