Effort vs last on syphilid you see effort going 3 hatch burrow/speed timing, and last is doing a 2 rax off a 1 rax cc, but most people talk of the burrow timing as specifically anti 1-1-1
question is how effective is burrow-ling timings vs non 1-1-1 builds, anyone got exp with that?

Didn't open your link, but from your description he must've been referring to lockdown. Nothing else would make sense.

I ageee with you. I read Ghosts do Concussive damage to large units which would mean they do only 2.5 damage. It would take forever to kill a Reaver. So he had to have meant Lockdown. Thanks.

Anyone ever tried using Hallucinated Zealot drops or Hallucinated Archon drops on Siege Tank lines in PvT since Hallucinations take twice the damage? Figurd it would be good.

All that means is the hallucinated zealots would die so fast that it wouldn't be very effective, except maybe in some uber late game battle of attrition situation. I haven't ever tried picking up a hallucinated unit that I can remember, though I'd assume it's possible.

Maybe Hallucinated Archons would work better?

The tanks still take the same amount of damage

Ah smart I did not think of that.

Figurd it would be good. They have been used to clear mines but not as drops, or at least not in any prominent modern games that I know of.

Tanks take same splash regardless if the unit is hallucinated or real. You're probably right about the size though

If it's right that the tanks take less dmg through this than with regular zealots it would still mean that Protoss has some more fresh zealots running at the tanks which doesn't sound so bad. I guess the alternative which is STORM (!) is a reason why it's not seen very often - apart from the fact that it just takes more attention/preparation than to just pick up zealots with the drop (who oftentimes do some damage themselves when they survive a volley of not too many siege-shots). It's just one of the techniques that is an optimization in theory but too much to handle in real games unless there is a particular situation where the player has a lot of time, and even then he has to 'go out of his way' to do it.
I think there would be other great uses of hallucination though, as a tactical feint for example when Protoss still has a low zealot-count after a battle or something. If I unsieged my tanks, scanned and saw 20 zealots (10 hallucinated) instead of 10, I don't know if I would think of the possibility of some of them being hallucinated, or, if I did, if I would actually take that risk. Similarly a hallucinated speed-shuttle or arbiter, just flewn into sight-range of a spotter-barracks around my 3rd base would surely force me to react to a non-existend, easy to fake threat.

I played a pvt vs infernal some months ago where I decided that this game im gonna do hallucinated zealot drops. the game was pretty even, I was prolly ahead after early game, but instead of going arb storm stasis, I spent a significant chunk on templars for hallucination, several speed shuttles etc.
then I'm hallucinating and loading up shuttles and he moves out of his base I didn't have stasis and I didn't really have much storm and all my units were disorganized and there was like 30 supply of useless templars. my shuttles with hallucinated zealots didn't do shit against his unsieged tank group rolling over me, and I died without it being remotely close. Out of all 'crazy' shit I've tried to be creative, hallucinated zealot drops is one of the worst failures.
It could have some potential in some weird gas rich mineral poor stalemate situation, but those almost never happen, and frankly, it's hard to see this be better than having 15 arbiters.

does anybody know where can i find the vod of BeSt vs Canata @ ultimatum?
i think they played that game @ nate msl
edit: Found it, TLPD too stronk!

Does mining larvae/eggs have any potential? Mines trigger on both larvae and eggs, however it takes one mine to kill a larvae and three to kill an egg (not sure how many vulture shots it takes, but I imagine many ).
Would that have any practical use in games? I.e., could you time it and try to snipe ultras before they pop? Although, you'd have to gamble on where they'll be built, and it' require a lot of mehacnics, and dropships and such to pull off, rather than just mining the map.
So I might have answered my own question, but even so - is there any potential to it?

I have been trying to find advice on TvP and TvT but i always see people just saying to change to toss.
I have about 150 apm or so but i have been stuck in F rabk for a couple of months. Is terran just not even a reasonable possibly at this level? I like both toss and Terran well so id be ok with playing toss over Terran but from what i understand you will lose horribly in every MU until you reach semi-pro skill.

150 is fine, your problem is most likely not mechanical

Well for one its obviously mechanical, i had a coach get to a rank using only 1 base zealot and i cant get that out of f rank.
But everything terran does is more difficult. Any time i play toss its just so much easier. If i actually sat down with toss for a few weeks i could probably get to E rank. Im just not sure if thats wise.
TvZ is hard but i have fun with it and i don't get tvts hardly so more or less no opinion. Tvp is the one i cant do. It doesn't matter how good my macro is because the push is just dissassembled. I know there are ways to counter it but it requires such apm and skill. The skill floor for terranfeels so high that i could be a c rank toss by the time im able to win F rank TvP.

Terran is for people that like Terran. If you care about rank and getting easy wins play toss. That said, 150 apm is more than enough to get out of F. The problem is you most likely don't know how to use your apm effectively.
