Depends on the player, I know Bisu often played with sd graphics, and so does Mind but most players are using hd graphics.

I wonder if the current ASL players play with HD graphics on stage.

I ask because I would imagine Wraiths would have an easier time reaching the Carriers than Goliaths. As to why Wraiths aren't used, I would guess that Dragoons, Carriers, Corsairs + whatever else the Protoss has does very well against them, and you can't really properly support the Wraiths. Is this correct? Wraiths can only be used to surprise Protoss for the first time. Once the surprise is over Protoss just adds observers to the carrier fleet and the carriers will destroy the wraiths like knife through butter. In addition wraiths cost 50 more minerals and gas so it's an extremely expensive and risky move.

If you have a turret-ring and made sure there is no obs in your base, Protoss has no chance scouting it directly. He could still expect it, but these rare eventualities tend to slip away from many peoples' minds while playing BW. If you can build just a handful of cloaked wraiths you almost always get a chance to drive the carriers away really far, even kill a few, as long as you get a little lucky sniping the first and maybe second observer he has in proximity (and if you wait for a good, far-off spot to strike). If anything, it should throw the Protoss into disarray for a while, gain you some time to get more turrets/gols up. The more so the lower the level of play. From my experience, carriers are "stronger" on low/medium level because Terrans are not competent enough yet to see and use the small timing they have to punish Protoss, and then, against 6, 8, 10 carriers, casual Terrans have their hands full not dying to that invincible flying hero-unit while Protoss takes ninja-expos wherever he wants. So, mass-carriers on that level is something you get away with oftentimes, but might collapse if confronted with an unconventional, tactical response like cloaked-wraith.

They are also a one thing and it's done kind of unit, since after you use your first storm it will take 159s (normal game speed) to regenerate another 75 energy. If you want to harass early, Reavers are way better. On the other hand, reavers are too micro intensive and finicky, so they suck late-game (against T). HTs are good vs Goliaths if you're going Carriers, too.

In PvT, how do you know how to choose between High Templars and Reavers? Is one or the other better at certain times as a rule of thumb? And what is more common choice going HT’s first or Reavers? Don’t HTs get owned by Vultures? Thanks~ Both are optional really, you do not really need them for pvt. They also serve slightly difference purposes. Reavers in generally are used in early/mid game situation, they are great for harassment. Also since you'd want observer against mines you'd get a robo anyway. So reaver is a relatively small small investment. HTs are generally more of a late game unit - it can be used on clumped tanks, often people will put them in a shuttle since they are very fragile and slow. Most people tend to get it after arbiters unless you are going carriers- then they'd be handy vs goliaths. Reaver highlights: Ht highlights:

They both kinda do and you do want both but storm requires you to cast where as reavers will shoot even if you don't do anything. Reavers also doesn't hit friendly units with splash where as storm does so in big fights, they can kill the lings once they've closed the gap without storming your own stuff.
