Gretech was leveraging their significant existing investments in production, both in equipment and personnel. For example, the cameras used in GSL are in the 50k-100k range alone, not including stand/mounting hardware and accessories (e.g., output cards, viewfinders, power supplies, etc). NASL is starting from scratch. It'll take time/$$$. Personally, I love watching the daily evolution of NASL. Can't wait to compare a NASL broadcast 3-4 months from now to the first broadcast - I bet the difference will be night and day.

I'm seeing a video quality so poor that I can barely make out any word in the game interface except the unit name. Even the GSL gave a better quality stream outright, albeit a laggy one.

Artosis and Tasteless had far less game knowledge than Gretorp and iNc and were constantly calling units by the wrong names, the games were of arguably lower quality than the ones we're seeing in NASL, and I remember at least one instance of "we're just sitting here waiting for a competitor." That happened to me at first too...then I realized I could click on 480 to drastically increase the quality. It's definitely better than my SQ stream was for GSL when streamed through VLC.

It is the first week, as time goes on it will be better. I remember GSL first season and compared to the GSL at the moment, it sucked...Things will get better in time, don't worry. The only thing we need to do, is to support NASL.

Make sure you guys turn off all programs that aren't part of the broadcast on the casting machine!

This is a tournament such as the TSL or FXOpen. + Show Spoiler + This is the NASL. + Show Spoiler + This is Justin.tv + Show Spoiler + This is Ustream. + Show Spoiler + They cannot create their own content delivery system, unless they cast the game on napkins. Interesting perspective. I'm not sure I agree, necessarily, but interesting none-the-less.

Otherwise... *insert generic complaint about commentating with mention of Day[9] while ignoring how little time casting as a pair iNcontrol and gretorp have had* As someone with 0 experience commentating, and therefore an internet authority on the matter... I would love to suggest some time together (if you can find it) actively working on the casting roles etc. each of you do early on while you both develop more rounded and complete casting abilities. Both of you have tons of experience with SC, talking about starcraft etc. but have you done that much with casting as a pair?

ok you wanna keep it "lcean" and want to do what the email guy said. but dont break the whole casting and expose gretorp like that . very awkward moment for me.

This is a pretty big issue for all the people that can't watch the "live" broadcast.
