After a couple more games, the oberserver view is downright terrible.

Please follow the action a bit more actively...

it would be nice if you could somehow do FPVOD during the beginning like BW its much better than 2 still cameras with workers being produce and minerals being mined.

I dont know how they did this in BW; i guess you can only do it in LANs

At the start of each game, there's the "two-base" view with the player photos and arrows pointing to the base camera.

This is such a small point... but when the player's at the top right and his camera is at the bottom left, it's confusing when you say "At the top right..." Could you arrange things so that the base view is in the same position as the player is on the map? That is... if the player spawns at the top left, you put the base view at the top left? And that you do this even if they spawn next to each other (you might, for example, have base views at top left and bottom left, and player pictures at top right and bottom right)?

Indeed a small point that irks me too. Once again, boredom + Photoshop brings me to

Cool idea, but the skewed perspective is bad, imo.

I like that layout WAY MORE, just no artificial perspective

It seems like the only way to fit them on one screen, I'm not sure how it would be without having the weird 4x split there is now.
But my main point is introducing players should have more information like I showed.

I think things really improved between two nights ago and last night. The commentary was more insightful and meaningful. Gretorp settled down and was making really good observations -- I was really impressed with how much better he was last night as compared with the two prior. So much of the enjoyment in watching SC2 comes from the commentators, and both Gretorp and Incontrol did much much better I feel. I really dig (heh) diggity also and I hope they keep him on (which they are).

Thanks for listening to the community, NASL. You're already improving vastly in a very short amount of time. Keep it up -- the matches have been great.

I was one of the guys who really got onto Gretorp yesterday for not improving his casting abilities since Clash of the Titans. It seems like I need to eat my words now. He really seems to have taken all the criticism to heart and literally improved over night!

I was so happy when I realized after an hour of watching that all the things I found annoying or distracting the day before were suddenly gone!

Keep up the good work!

The casters look like they're casting from someone's basement, the preshow is long and boring, the audio is wonky and Gretorp sounds like he's explaining taxes.

Otherwise...NASL FIGHTING!!!

Got to say, I think InControl is really fantastic. Knows his stuff and is interesting to listen to, and has a good screen presence. Think he's doing a great job. Gretorp I'm not as bothered about, but I'm willing to give him a chance.

It would be very great if NASL could upload the official maps that are being used to the EU server as well. Every map which I assume NASL uses is still slightly different from what they're actually using. Different choke size, the crossfire "haze", and minerals facing other directions. If anyone else knows how to upload the map to EU, that would be awesome too.

Thanks.

Please try to do something about the timers on the VoDs. It is superhard to start the games and not get spoiled while you are watching together with a friend. You have to sync up and sometimes you just happen to see the damn time.

Also, you can't hide your mouse on JustinTV vods. If I talk on TeamSpeak I always bring up that timer again. Damned that is annoying.
I had a good night of sleep.

here's a suggestion:

abandon the idea of broadcasting yourselves all the games at the same time slot, focus on the logistics of the events and whatnot, and allow for other observers/casters to broadcast the matches live. then later you could produce a highlights/results show and whatnot.

I LOVE this idea.

It's like GSL, sometimes Tastosis won't notice a Nydus Worm or Mothership in production immediately, but they react to either the crowd or Korean commentators.

The energy of the audience is good fuel for the casters, and helps have a live feeling to things.

that's not really possible due to the way NASL handles their broadcasts, people would be able to spoil all results online since the games get streamed a day later

I am an enraged customer! I would really like to pay for your services but i dont own a credit card.
See, im from Europe, for me the livecast starts at 2am and credit cards arent that commom here.
Hell, i actually dont know anybody that owns one.
So there is literally no way for me to watch your streams, be it vod or livecast.

I have money, please let me give you some.

Sincerly,
Bob

there's a free rebroadcast of the games for european viewers live RIGHT NOW. and yesterday at 18cet, and tomorrow... and...

Late reply, but no I don't think so. I'm sure the NASL could easily find observers that could keep their mouth shut. The games are usually spoiled because of bnet anyways

To the casters: Plz stop interrupting each other! Gretorp does this sometimes but Incontrol does it soooo many times that it's beginning to be slightly annoying. You have to let the other caster speak his mind and wait your turn even if you really want to say something. Every time Incontrol interrupts it's like Gretorp loses his train of thought and has to pick it up again and it makes the commentary "jerky" instead of the flow that it should be.

With the removal of the fly cam thing in the pre show, it'd be great if NASL could put some graphic of the map up somehow to show what they're talking about.

it must be said that NASL is not E-sports done right. Sure, it might attract some of the most hardcore starcraft 2 players, but its never going to find its way into new peoples hearts. im talking about mainstream people who havent played/watched starcraft before. There are many reasons for this and i am going to do my best to list a few of them.

1. The production value is low. Looking at two guys sitting in a sterile grey studio casting games that are being played somewhere else is not exciting. there is no audience, no player booths, nothing that creates an atmosphere of competition and hype. there is also no game sound (or has this been fixed? i wasnt able to catch the show last night)

2. The casting is bad. this has been said over and over i know, but incontrol is just trying to hard to be something wich he isnt instead of being the funny guy everyone loves. Gretorp is just plain bad, he doesnt contribute anything mostly he is just confirming what incontrol has already said, his voice is annoying, he yells all the time about small things that everyone who watches the steam sees (seriously you dont need to yell in my hears that one of the player moves out with his stalkers, i see it, im not blind) and his excitement feels faked.

3. there are simply too many games being casted. im a pretty passionated starcraft 2 fan and even i cant bother to watch all of it, and its not exciting to follow a tournament if you cant follow the "story" that develops through the tournament.

Keep in mind that this is coming from a person who stays up to 4AM just to hear SOTG live just to hear incontrol and the other guys be awesome, i love the starcraft 2 scene and everyone in it.

I'll try to be constructive instead of just being a dick, but what bothers me the most about Gretorp is that he's obviously insanely good at this game but if you listened to him talk during the casts you would have no idea. I'm sure he knows a lot of little details that he just isn't saying. Sure a lot of people don't really care that he got his second rax before his OC and what exactly that means, but I wish Gretorp would just tell us anyway. Artosis says all kinds of things that casual people really won't care about but I'll watch Artosis cast anything because he's teaching you stuff you didn't know the whole time.

But the businessman in me says since they are both on gosucoaching.com that they want to keep their tips to themselves which might not be the worst move ever. But I doubt that's it.

And I've gotta say I've never played a single game on Backwater Gulch b/c I thought it looked so terrible but there have been some pretty awesome games on it in the NASL so I might even give it a shot.
Apologize.
