Woah... Wonder how good he would be in 1v1, if he used all that time on it =P

Who said it was just one guy? It could have been many people sharing one account

Damn that is crazy - WOW!
Shame on all you guys who belittle this achievement and the person who accomplished it. We're all nerds here, after all.

What is there to envy? It's just useless achievements that took hundreds of hours to get.

wow, thats pretty impressive. I am pacing myself to get the 3k wins in about 3-4 years.
EDIT: I just checked his achievements. He got 400 FFA wins in 3 days. Thats crazy.

Gonna assume over 90% of the people making fun of this guy for getting the achievements also spend at least 20 hours per week playing SC2 and have 0% chance of "getting anything in return" for all their time playing. The guy wanted all the achievements and it's no worse than playing 1v1s all day.
The same people saying achievements are meaningless are the same people who complained that it took them too long to get promoted to Diamond even though they were already playing Diamond level competition but just didn't have the pretty Diamond next to their name to show off. Guess what? They're the same thing.
Get a hobby that doesn't involve putting other people down for doing what they enjoy and let the guy have his fun.

How can he have over 6000 1v1 games played, and only 800 points?

It's not too bad getting there per se but mass rushing/cheesing at diamond level to farm wins IS hard. Unless of course he got to Diamond after he finished grinding (I doubt he actually played out all those games).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Also, while a lot of the achievements are extremely lengthy and tedious, I feel that 800FFA wins is by far the worst since it's the only mode you can't get lucky to win in a few minutes in.
As for me personally, I'm currently sitting at 3800 and am somewhat interested to push myself to grind out to 4k (which is some kind of magic number in my head ) and then I'm done playing anything in this game with achievements in mind as the primary goal. Just not worth it - I totally learned that while grinding out 300solo wins vs AIs which is actually the easiest of the win-grind achievements .
Before I get excited, I'd like some trusted confirmation that the guy didn't hack or something. I'm not sure this is doable in this period of time, even with 3 people alternating 8 hours to make the account 24/7 active.
If the account is indeed legit, I expect to see it featured in a blue article on battle.net soon. I'd love also if they find a way to contact the real people involved with the account, and interview them. It's interesting to hear the thoughts of those who got all the achievements, about which ones were hard / easy, and in general about the design of the game.
p.s. There's a NEXJenny in his division. I wonder if NEX have a female progamer. (: Haven't heard about that, would be cool.
I knew this was going to show up
eventually
but props to him on being the first
Too bad the "high" lasts so short and then you don't care anymore about it/think to yourself how stupid it was to waste all that time. I'm not too hardcore in this department but I'm well familiar with this OCD completionst thing from own experience. >.>
impressive, was probably a shared account
Why can't people grow up and stop being so rude towards this guy? If you don't think it was worth the time and effort, then don't bother posting here. TeamLiquiders were much more nice pre-StarCraft 2
wow. that was fast. must be a shared account else my mind is just blown away.
|
Something seriously odd here or something I just don't understand.
SC2 been out for 76 days.
This guy has over 12 000 games altogether. With 15min a game it would make 125 days non-stop playing. So way over the time SC2 has actually been out. With cheesy 7 min a game it would still be about 62 days.
And this is just league games.
