Fuck, I just lost $50 to a fucking employment agency that I will never get back. Current position, still no job and $50 down. Any ideas how to get these pieces of shit back? > I was going to throw a brick at their window at night but that seems too hardcore... I have their phone number and adress but no clue how to counter attack these bastards. Right now thinking about posting their number everywhere on the internet and over the city. It might be smart to describe how you lost the money? And it's different between countries what is allowed and what not. Good luck though!

Basically, I had to pay 50 bucks and they garantee a job I like, and refund the $50 deposit if I don't like it. They gave me a shit job where I have to do heavy lifting (factory work) and stuff for only minimum wage. I called them and they are basically making up random excuses and shit and how I am not getting my deposit back. Need to get these fuckers back.

Isn't there some kind of government related thing you can go to? In holland if it was like that and you had it in your contract you could first write them a letter and after that if they don't respond you could maybe go to court with it.

I don't know, small court claims? That will cost more than my original $50 in Canada.

If not, then I don't think you can expect them to work miracles. However, if they did say you can get your money back, I would just call them and ask for it back since you werent satisfied with their performance.

Just need to get revenge so I feel better about the whole situation.

They found me overnight work in a factory, which was hard work but paid really well. They didn't charge a fee. When the factory went on shutdown for 2 weeks, they found me temporary work in other places during that time. You have only 2 real options here: 1) Call your employment agency and tell them (calmly and humbly) that if you're going to be doing factory work you would expect better pay. You'd like them to continue looking for a better job for you. 2) Let it go and find a better employment agency. In the end it's only $50. We haven't really touched on the fact that working in factory for minimum wage isn't really all that bad before you have a degree...

Trying to find new work isn't #1 on my list right now, #1 priority is getting them back somehow. So apparently I should go with the brick? Any less violent ideas? The reason I am mad is not because they couldn't find me a better job, it is that they promised my deposit back if I don't want to work in whatever they found for me.

And your best bet is to just call them and keep your calm. GL and don't do stupid stuff.

There is nothing you can do that isn't illegal. I guess you could inconvenience them by phoning and yelling at them or putting up flyers? We're entering a real cost/benefit dilemma here though... Yes, you could take them to small claims court for revenge. That would tie up their time and they may just surrender the $50 to you when they get the summons notice. But that's a really stupid idea.
