Fuck, I just lost $50 to a fucking employment agency that I will never get back. Current position, still no job and $50 down. Any ideas how to get these pieces of shit back? > I was going to throw a brick at their window at night but that seems too hardcore... I have their phone number and adress but no clue how to counter attack these bastards. Right now thinking about posting their number everywhere on the internet and over the city. It might be smart to describe how you lost the money? And it's different between countries what is allowed and what not. Good luck though!

If not, then I don't think you can expect them to work miracles. However, if they did say you can get your money back, I would just call them and ask for it back since you werent satisfied with their performance.

They found me overnight work in a factory, which was hard work but paid really well. They didn't charge a fee. You have only 2 real options here: 1) Call your employment agency and tell them (calmly and humbly) that if you're going to be doing factory work you would expect better pay. You'd like them to continue looking for a better job for you. 2) Let it go and find a better employment agency. In the end it's only $50. We haven't really touched on the fact that working in factory for minimum wage isn't really all that bad before you have a degree...

There is nothing you can do that isn't illegal. I guess you could inconvenience them by phoning and yelling at them or putting up flyers? We're entering a real cost/benefit dilemma here though... Yes, you could take them to small claims court for revenge. That would tie up their time and they may just surrender the $50 to you when they get the summons notice. But that's a really stupid idea.

You had no job. You couldn't find a job on your own, so you enlisted their help. They got you a job. They got you a fucking job. You had no job, then you had a job, and the job was hard work. ...... it depends on what your end goal is. if you want a legit way to get back at them and probably get your 50 back, find a competent (free) human rights lawyer. you dont really want to grind the case through, you just want to intimidate them enough to know that they cant just bump you off. they will eventually damage control and pay you back, and with a sharp lawyer, you might even get 4x your $50. you just have to be sure abt your contract and the premises of your nature of employment in the first place. you should know that these mofos thrive on deception. OR, if you just wnt maximum damage all-in hell be damned revenge, as i gather you do, i suggest: 1. go guerilla, post super negative flyers about them, complete with address, number, url, managers and people you know who work there. 2. DONT do the brick thing, high risk, low reward, certainty of punishment 3. DONT, as a matter of fact, do anything involving you being physically within the vicinity 4. spam their system - while your on down time, why dont you spam their phone lines. ring them all day everyday. 5. gather as much info about people working there as possible. does anybody have a child, credit problems, etc, and use it against them. for example, say the cashier (or someone who had direct responsibility to what happened to you) has an 8 year old kid, call up and pretend to be one of the parents in his/her skul and report a major accident or something. be creative. the idea is to shake them to their core and expose their vulnerabilities. 6. call in utilities and reg flag them: fire alert to fire department, drug report to police, violent incident, emergency, etc. expose them, get to their nerves. 7. know their business partners or suppliers and negative press them, for example order 50 reams of paper on their behalf, COD. or water, ink, whatever. thats it for now. let us know about your little adventure, ok. good luck ![]()

7. know their business partners or suppliers and negative press them, for example order 50 reams of paper on their behalf, COD. or water, ink, whatever. thats it for now. let us know about your little adventure, ok. good luck ![]() Too late O________O why, something happened already? How the hell do you get a job buy paying 50 bucks? I mean well at least at network marketing you get a simple business model and you can refund that shit if it's not working but 50 dollars for heavy lifting stuff? thats really terrible imo! ![]()

Just need to make sure I don't get in this situation again in the future. Exactly. I've lost hundreds of dollars to a sleazy company and I couldn't do a damn thing about it. Everyone has gone through bullshit like this at some point or another. You've just gotta move on and remember the positives: 1. At least this mistake cost you only $50. People (e.g. myself) often get screwed for a lot more. 2. Now you've learned not to trust what random people or companies say. That's very useful. In the future, you can make sure anything you're promised is promised in clear, non-vague writing. You can also try asking your friends about a company or try Googling them before trusting them: it's not a guarantee that you won't get screwed, but it is a LOT easier than trying to decipher a legal document. ![]() 3. You can warn other people about this shady business, like you've done with this topic. Others can learn from your experience, too. ![]()

it is 5 days a week, 8 hours I'm pretty sure McDonalds and cashiers earn minimum wage (10.25) too but no heavy lifting factory work involved. The only reason I was super pissed a few hours ago was because they didn't go back on their promise that if I would get my deposit back if I didn't go and hanging up in my face when I mention it. Also the whole time I was polite and apologetic that I wasted their time but since the day I went to their office, they always give you that "we are helping you, I am better than you" attitude.

Minimum wage is $7.50 in New York and you're complaining about $10.25? You know how many people would love to have ANY job? That's like 5 hours of work to get back your 50 bucks...They said they'd get you a job, they got you one. If you decide you don't want it they can't just go out and find you another job and keep going until you're satisfied, You do realize there's paper work and I'm sure tons of other stuff that temp agencies probably have to do before they can get you a job right? 50 dollars was probably used there, they didn't scam you -_-.

I called them and they are basically making up random excuses and shit and how I am not getting my deposit back. Need to get these fuckers back. Isn't there some kind of government related thing you can go to? In holland if it was like that and you had it in your contract you could first write them a letter and after that if they don't respond you could maybe go to court with it. I don't know, small court claims? That will cost more than my original $50 in Canada. I thought you lived in North Korea. You should update your location to actually be accurate, so people are less confused.

Edit: If your in a University they usually have an employment service, and you can find way better jobs, and careers that are open to students undergrad or w/e. So take a look in that. Btw, isn't posting flyers, phone numbers etc. like against the law if it deems to get them loss of revenue or something or the other?
