If anything it's a knock-off of diablo 1, with the UI of diablo 3. I bought it a few days ago, decided against touching mods, and have been playing through very hard as an alchemist. I have to say, it's pretty challenging and extremely fun. I wish it was multiplayer though :[

I have to say this game isn't that bad at all, especially since most of it's creators are from the original Diablo team. I think what will attract many users to this game is the fact that it is widely playable on almost every laptop. My laptop is 3-4 years old and it runs great on max settings. My girlfriend's is about a year old and it runs just as good, if not better. I highly suggest everyone at least try the game, it'll be a good timewaster until Diablo III arrives. It was on sale for 50% off ($10) this past weekend, and I'm sure they'll do a sale like that again, so be on the lookout, folks.

$5 for another 20 hours or so. Thinking of buying it...

I started playing this yesterday, and honestly it was fun for the first 2 hours for each 3 classes but after that it was just horribly repetitive and boring.

yeah, basically this.
if you don't play on very hard the game is a cakewalk, but if you do play on very hard it's basically just potion spamming.
what a grind

I bought it for $5 and I've been playing a destroyer on very hard hardcore just to keep things exciting. It's going to really suck if I die on the final boss because there's not much chance of me going through the entire game again to see the ending.

I bought it for my brother ... unfortunately he doesn't like it =( ... $5 down the drain.

This needs multiplayer asap.

Unfortunately this was my experience too...playing an anything less than very hard is just wasting your time.

I played it on normal/hard and I'm enjoying myself just fine, I don't think it's a waste of time.
I just wish their was some type of multiplayer component.

I had a shitload of fun with this until about lvl 20ish.. I have a marksman Vanquisher on the hardest mode, and now it's basically devolved into spamming explosive shot and chugging mana potions.. which is senselessly boring. Are the other classes any different(or the other skill trees)? I'd like to try em out but if they just end up with spamming 1 skill and chugging mana pots as well, I'm out

i'm out. Max dual wield lvl 1 the first skill and max other passive skills = to eaz.

Still, for $5.00 plus mod potential, it's still a worthy investment.
Anyone try any good mods so far?

Where did you guys get it for 5$? Thats like just 3€! I bought it for 7ish € for my brother around christmas. But now its 15,99€ again.
|
You could get the game for 3,99€ a few days ago. Not anymore I'm afraid, steam holiday sales is over

Fun game; I played through it once with a vanquisher on hard/hardcore. Definitely worth the money. And trust me, you do not need Very Hard to make it interesting when death is permanent. I do think, though, that potions getting dispelled when you take damage would be fun (and also make me claw my eyes out, but that's a way to have fun).

Definitely no reason to play besides on Very Hard. Are there any EJ-like sources for theorycraft yet?
I'm wondering how DW works in comparison to 2H. From what I've gathered from forums (not proven), DW pistols (w/ dw mastery) beats 2h on both Vanquishers and Destroyers because the skills take into account total weapon DPS, not just from the primary weapon, plus the stats on dw weapon apply to both (such as hp/mp leech.)
White damage will be higher with the 2h, but if you're just spamming explosive/ricochet/slash, then it doesn't really matter.

It was pretty fun for the cost. It made me want D3 even more.

i'd definately get this if this has at least LAN support : /
