This was my experience: Joined a server with ~15 guys online, thought I'd pick one where there is some activity, but not too much. Spawned in a random location and had no idea where I was. I really liked this because exploring is fun and finding stuff for yourself is also enjoyable. Started running around, found a small city reasonably fast. Saw like 2 zombies along the way and was quite disappointed that there were so few of them. Found a well and was quite happy that I didn't die of thirst in my first attempt . Found a crowbar and thought I was ready to kick some zombie ass. The first zombie I encountered died with one hit. It fell and disappeared into a wall. The second one crashed through a staircase and fell into nothingness or something lol. I felt quite powerful haha. The third one did not bug out. I realised at that moment, that a crowbar is apparently not very good at killing zombies. I started bleeding and ran away. I bandaged myself (found that along the way somewhere) and after like 3 minutes of running I finally got rid of the zombie haha. Figured I needed a better weapon to engage zombies so I kept exploring. Ran around for ~15 minutes and found very little. Some clothing, some ammunition (no gun though), nothing really useful. Avoided the few zombies that I saw. It was honestly pretty boring, the world felt really, really empty. I didn't encounter any other players in 30 minutes and zombies don't seem to be a huge threat. Eventhough I couldn't properly expose of them, there are so fewof them and you can just run away. The biggest problem seems to be not to die of hunger/thirst. I recognize that it is still an Alpha and know that things are gonna get patched, but for right now there doesn't seem thaaat much to do. Maybe I should have just kept playing and explored some more... If you guys have any tipps to make the game more fun/enjoyable, I'd love to hear them As people have already said, it's definitely a lot more fun with friend. Sounds like you had a pretty standard first time experience. I really found I had fun the first time I got in a firefight, it was so intense. As for the Zombies it will get better, they've said they want to add hordes and hordes of zombies but for now like you say just an alpha working stuff out.

Question: My screen is suddenly grey as all fuck, it feels like I am near death all the time or something. Everything looks blurry and grey. Do I have to do something else besides bandage myself when I get hit? How can I get rid of this lol. I am actually considering starting a new character because everything looks like shit. What do i do?^^

Got a nice backpack, a pistol, decent amount of food/water, 2 med kits etc. I've had some close encounters with zombies and was bleeding like crazy for like 7 times. What do i do?^^ Yes, you lose color and the screen becomes blurry when you lose blood. If you lose enough, you'll start to randomly go unconscious. To get your blood level up, you can either make sure you're full on both food and water, and let it regenerate, you can get a blood transfuse from someone else (requires blood, blood bag and iv kit, as well as making sure you have compatible blood types with a blood test kit. Its a lot of work), or you can have someone give you a salinebagiv (saline bag + an iv kit). The last one is the quickest and easiest, but saline bags can be hard to find at times. Saline bags can also be used to wake up unconscious people. Its a really good item to have.

It doesn't help him either way + like I said you need a buddy to administrate it to you, so unless you're playing with someone else, your best bet is to eat and drink yourself back up. Vitamins should help as well I think. Btw, these things will get your blood level back up and fix the color saturation. The blurry effect is not so easily curable..in fact, I have yet to actually cure it. I'm not sure if its bugged or if its suppose to be that damn hard to fix. I've read somewhere that its suppose to be because of infection, and that you could perhaps get rid off it with vitamins, alcohol tincture, antibiotica or fresh fruit. A glitch right now you can use is to access your video settings (only the screen, no need to actually change anything), and it will go away until next time you log on.

+ Show Spoiler + Branch: Experimental ETA: Monday 20 January 2014, AM Description: This build is being tested on experimental branch, and contains a number of fixes and changes that have been in preparation for the last two weeks. Please note that we do not expect that this build will be quickly posted to stable branch as we anticipate at least one more update will occur to Experimental prior to being pushed to stable. Only a limited number of servers will be running this version, so be aware slots may be limited. Once we have confirmed this build is functioning correctly we will announce more information about the release to stable branch. What are experimental/stable branches? In your steam application settings, you can choose a "beta branch". This allows you to opt in to our experimental branch to try it out. Does my saved character get affected in experimental branch? No. It runs on a different database, so any changes will not affect your character on stable branch. I can't find a slot while on experimental branch! Only a small number of servers run this branch. You will need to change your game back to the stable branch and play on a normal server Can I join a stable branch server wil experimental branch client? No, you would need to change your client back to stable. When will this be in stable? We expect stable to be updated before the end of that week (by Friday 24 January 2014). I am also starving right now, cause apparently you need non-rotten food to stay alive. Who would have thought So, i searched about 5 villages, every house, and i got one can of beans but no can opener. Is it me or the problem with stuff not respawning unless the server reboots, or is it the server, or ae you supposed to die after some time? I stated at the coast and then went inland, my map is all black (why is that?), so i have no idea where i am or where i should head Any tipps for a newbie? Right now, nothing spawns unless the server restarts. They are hard at work implementing a dynamic spawn system, but its not up yet. This means starting out a few hours after a restart on a popular server can be tough. You should try to find a water well to top you off to start, and then head inland and try to find a village that's not looted. You can open cans with axes, knives or even a screwdriver. But some content will spill unless opened by a box opener. You dont start out with a map in this game. And they are very rare. But what you can do is find a map online, and try to find out where you are based on city names and other marks. Once you get enough food to get you going, start looking for weapons, medical equipment, better clothes and backpack. You can stay alive indefinitely in this game, and after a while it starts to become easy just staying alive..until someome shoots you and you have to start over.

I say "hey man", he waves to me, and I wave back and leave. 30 seconds later I'm dead. Getting more and more reasonable to just shoot everyone on sight. While with my buddies at NE two of us were hiding in hangar corners while a guy on the hill gave us cover. The sniper sees somebody. I start talking in direct chat to know what they're up to, after 10 secs I and the other guy in the hangar get shot through the walls. If you gotta comunicate while hidden (and you always should against unknowns unless you KOS), do it in chat. Oh and if somebody doesn't stop running away and doesn't talk upon being adressed, I will shoot them too. Some guy who did that yesterday tried to lure me into a building so he could hit me with his axe. Not a good idea vs a guy with 120 M4 shots.

After running in to a ton of people, I would estimate: 90+% chance of KoS 5+% chance of ignoring each other <5% chance of friendly contact. It was actually quite depressing...
