When Team USA was first made, he made the team and was top 10 USA material but even then, I used to be able to beat him and at that point, I played Terran and completely sucked. This is back in the early days of Grrrr... and Elky. Once the game evolved a little bit and players got better, HovZ couldn't keep up. Artosis, Nyoken, Rekrul, Froz, Assem, Day[9], and others were, and still are, far better than him. Yes. He showed up to his house, knocked on the door, and hit him because Nextel shit talked him (if I remember correctly). HovZ was a disrespectful punk / criminal imo. Honestly, who the hell does that? Hopefully he has grown up and isn't such a "thug". Uh... compared to the timelines in SC? HovZ was okay but nothing special lol. He was decent for the era in which he played. Not like you were any better back than Eric. A lot of guys could beat him easily back then. Not much of a feat. I would never compare players to other guys who quit long before they started to make waves like yourself. So there's no need to compare a guy like HovZ to guys like Nyoken, Rek, Froz, Whear, and Assem. Heck I wouldn't even compare him to Maynard, Zileas, Pillars and Tsu for that matter either. Sean started doing well in 2003-2004 and your home boy Dan was never that good. -_- On April 09 2013 05:15 Holgerius wrote: You're applauding him punching someone over a little smack talk? Really? Pages upon pages of smack talk ensued, then some B team Spain player (called Upham if I remember correctly) challenged and beat HovZ, immediately posting the replay in the thread. Ah.. the old days. =] Upham was actually pretty good even back then.

Sorry man this is just so untrue. Froz, Assem and lots of ppl were leagues better than him to a degree that you could call hovz an amateur. As hilarious as it is Artosis was prob better than him. Then u have ppl less known like Crayon who could play Terran much better than Hovz ever could despite it not being his main race, etc. Hovz was like low apm okay player, Terrible vs efficient Z and prob had an okay vs USA P matchh. I beat him in a wcg qual live using a mouse that wasnt even mine and felt horrible lol. i mean whatever this is like 8 years ago but i dont like to see someone like hovz get acclaim this way.

Nobody has mentioned this but in WCG 2003 hovz got 4th place. Top 2 went to Korea that year and it's very possible he could have gone. In loser bracket semis he had assem completely dead but threw the game away. It was legacy of char and he had all of the top half of the map while assem only had bottom left and was almost mined out. Assem was going BC/Turret to defend vs a mass wraith transition from a tank/goliath build and hovz just kept losing wraiths over and over. Eventually assem got bottom right and hovz never transitioned to anything else and lost. Ultimately he could have just built 10+ factories or went BC and ran over assem but he didn't. I watched this in person so I could see both players screen. It's too bad this replay most likely doesn't exist anymore. He then would have had to play Mcnasty for 2nd/3rd who he had already lost to before so he still may have not made it to Korea. Obviously placing high in 1 WCG doesn't necessarily mean you're great and since he quit we'll never really know if it was a fluke or not. As far as where he is now I've been told he just owns up the casino playing poker.

He was using tank/vulture (1 base) and if you think about how TvT was played recently, I'm talking about 2010 because I don't play bw anymore, it was alot of tank/vulture except off 2 base. I think he opened double gate, and said the reason some people thought PvZ was imbalanced was because they didn't get gas fast enough. He also said he liked to exploit little advantages. For example, if his zealot killed one drone he tried to make it a long game. I was a fan.
