Can we at least agree that not locking your car properly is stupid, but stealing said car is still the real crime? I mean to say that I've expressed many similar sentiments to family in Korea, as well as numerous times in public here and there. Especially in Los Angeles, many Korean-American acquaintances would agree with my sentiment.
Racist? Perhaps I worded it wrongly. I did not mean to say: If one is an ethnic Korean, they must have poor skills at managing information over the internet and forming opinions. I meant to say: Culturally, Koreans have such poor ability to handle internet opinion that they are notorious for it.
Most Angelenos would agree with my assessment on driving. I've heard other residents of large cities such as Boston say similar things. I would like to point out that generalizations are just that.
I've seen perfectly kosher Human Resources tools (such as for the UK olympics) say: The X race do Y, remember to treat them in Z fashion. One in particular I recall is that Australians like to swear. As the UK is a place where hate speech is a crime, I doubt those would've been used if they were not completely fine.

There's no need for discussion regarding mr. Chul 'Garfield' Jung because everyone agrees that what he does was shady. People are blaming Jessica for blaming the players, when the actions of the players were at least partially a direct result of her letting "mr. J" manage sponsorships etc.

To add to this, she was the one who should've screwed Manager J. She has the case.
However, since she won't speak due to her pending case, she went after hardly involved parties to save face. In Korea, she is vastly more popular, and their netdrones form a hivemind that can shame reddit. She essentially went after a bunch of early 20-somethings that were bad employees (or not employees in CranK's situation). That extremely hypocritical, as she herself has admitted she made horrid decisions. She killed Slayers with bad management decision after bad management decision and she needed a scapegoat. Why not hit players that can hardly defend themselves? She didn't have that great of a relationship with them.
To add to it, she actually told MC he wasn't important enough to be talking to on twitter after she was informed he got hit in the face due to her accusation of "bullying" Genius. She's flailing and hitting people that are hardly liable.
Take CranK for example. He was unpaid, and yet he got blamed for Alicia, Ryung, MMA leaving. Of course, she recorded a phone call where she and Boxer goaded him, then put it up on the internet so she could claim that he was rude.
At this point, I don't know whether or not I want Manager J to squeeze his way out of paying Jessica like slime or not. She definitely doesn't deserve anything after showing that this was the horrible fashion she manages her financial endeavors.
Ok, but if we're blaming Jessica for being deceived by Manager J, how can we not blame the players that were deceived by Manager J? Logically, you can either fault both Jessica and the players or not fault either of them. I'm pretty sure we're metagaming this discussion at this point. Because players are employees and they are obligated to work with management (Manager J). Jessica is an employer. It is completely her culpability if a manager like such is hired and allowed cause this much damage over such a long period of time.
Also, it is not known whether or not Jessica actually committed her own sabotage. She claims that J had access to her e-mail account, and it was him rather than her that sabotaged MMA's sponsorship. There is no proof of this (and I can't imagine how someone would provide proof of this) one way or the other.
|
Honestly, it seems that Jessica didn't treat the players with understanding/respect/kindness or whatever a leader should do to 'inspire' the team. Perhaps, she even disrespected them.
But, as far as what was OWED to them, I don't doubt that she was aboveboard. Stealing/embezzling/sabotaging any of that. She probably was a huge bitch that rode them all day, and it's easy to see how a 3rd party can manipulate such a relationship to their advantage. Her perspective has mostly been defensive. I doubt anyone wants to really sling mud with her, because she would screw their reputations up.
In the end, it was really her fault - she was a naive outsider, who had no business taking on this role and only fucked up Boxer's name. But I have no sympathy at all for the players, they can swim with the KESPA fish now.

Sharing your mail where you deal with sponsors with your team managers ? To me that sounds not only risky but you basicly show a part of your finances aswell wich is something that in my opinion should be kept private. I also know his english was qualified etc and he basicly replaced Cella to handle forgeign communications as you said, but how does that justify anything ? His job description wasn't just the "team manager" you're thinking of. He was actually supposed to be in charge of looking for sponsors etc. I believe. So yes, it's justified for him to have access to the corporate email.
He had experience in the field, and was promoted to that position during the later portion of his stay there.

However, to say that that is entirely her fault, when it was the players who ignorantly decided to not trust her (without talking to her first, without trying to fully understand the situation, without any real reason to not trust her). Any team manager who's players one day stop trusting her and don't even tell her about it will be caught by surprise, and to save the team at that point is near impossible. Especially when the players at fault refuse to trust her after solid evidence is shown, and are the core of the team (MMA, Alicia, Ryung, CranK, 4 of the most popular players on SlayerS worldwide).

How did we get from "Manager J seems to have lied about sponsorship offerings to the SlayerS team" to "This is all Jessicas fault because she trusted Manager J to translate things accurately"? I can't wrap my head around how we could've possibly ended up here.
Can we at least agree that not locking your car properly is stupid, but stealing said car is still the real crime? Semi-related analogies aside: Trusting the wrong people can be stupid (though it's some times extremely difficult to tell), but that's nothing in the grand scale of debauchery that Manager J allegedly was in to.. This was what I was thinking too. Most of the posts I see either bash or defend Jessica, why isn't anyone crucifying manager J? Edit: okay, there ARE some people who are outraged over what manager J did, I still don't get it why people are blaming Jessica more than him though. Easy ... Jessica is "the head of the fish" and a fish starts to smell at the head. She owns and manages the team and thus is ultimately responsible. Apparently she was "smart enough" to allow manager J to use her own email account, which is not good as a manager. This caused the Razer confusion for sponsorship and who declined it. She also did NOTHING after several people complained about the bad team spirit. She is also ultimately responsible for not getting new sponsors for the team. So yeah, manager J probably did a few bad things, but Jessica did LOTS more ... mostly due to neglect. Since she doesnt acknowledge these responsibilities and the blame attached to them and instead tries to put all of the blame on the players, she ends up as the real villain of the story who portraits herself as the victim. Its all about CAUSE and EFFECT. Manager J, MMA and all the others blamed by her are only the effect of an incompetent head management by her. You obviously lack experience in the field... You're opinion is relatively correct, in that in the end, everything boiled down to the fact that the team owner/manager could not maintain the trust of the players. I am not saying that the players and manager J did everything perfect and dont deserve any blame, but Jessicas share is so MUCH bigger and yet she tries to blame only the players, which demonstrates bad personality, so she totally deserves to be trashed much more than the players. In the end - if the players had kept on trusting her - it wouldnt have mattered, because she is just terrible at managing a team and the end would have come a little later. It is easier and better to "let go" of something good than to artificially keep it alive.
Btw. ... no one needs "experience in the field" here, just some good common sense and no fanboyism/worship of one or the other side.
