If you honestly think those two are even mildly equivalent then you are the one who needs to take a closer look at their history book. You've missed the point entirely. Please read some of my other posts where it is explained further.

Thinking a race/gender/sexual preference/etc descriptor is a synonym with a negative modifier is racist because you believe calling someone of that race/sex/orientation/etc is synonymous with calling them weak, or untrustworthy, or whatever you are "actually" implying. Destiny calling his opponent a gook was offensive not because destiny hates Vietnamese, it was offensive because he equates calling people vietnamese with calling people unworthy. His brain is okay with the reality of that definition. He doesn't have to be malicious towards Asians--he simply thinks that being unworthy of winning is the same thing as being Vietnamese. In other words, racist--by definition.

I don't feel offended with such behaviour, since the racial slur was not directed to me personally, yet I do consider such behaviour juvenile. I don't care about what Destiny does on his stream or anywhere else, instead I just don't support him in any way. If I feel something is worth supporting, I will support it with my money and time. This is basically how capitalism works. However, I do think that if e-sports want to gain a tolerance within the general public, the community itself needs to display more professionalism. I don’t find racial slur as being professional. However, in the end it all depends on where the sponsors and supporters will put their money. If the drivers of the e-sports scene don’t tolerate such behaviour, we will see low support for such individuals, eliminating such behaviour in general.

I just hate online when someone insults someone like "man that guy is a douchebag" and their response is "ummmm I'm a female" like that should change his opinion lol

There's no way he would be okay with someone using racial slurs like "nigger" and "gook". What he is talking about is, for example, people being offended by someone saying there is no God, or making a large banner saying "you can be good without God" and put it on busses. He does not mean it's okay to use racial slurs. As for it being his personal stream.. yeah, it is. No one has to watch it. But at the end of the day, Team Liquid is making a statement by making him a featured streamer.

Speaking as a big fan of Destiny, I can say without question that he is absolutely racist and homophobic. However, I think it's out of ignorance and an inability to empathize with the target group, than with actual hate. You clearly do not understand what real bigotry is so don't pretend that you are so knowledgeable. Destiny absolutely does not fear "gays" or "blacks" or any other race or sexual preference, and he's spoken many times about his opinion on words such as "faggot" or any racial slur.

Yah, he sometimes comes off as a funny guy and sometimes he comes off as just another internet troll trying to piss people off for no reason or whining when he doesn't get his way. Luckily for Destiny I dont think he has any desire to be truly "mainstream". He is more of a Howard Stern type character.
