1) This is not 4chan 2) This is not reddit 3) Read your post 2 times before posting it, and think of at least one way that it contributes to the discussion. 4) Don't just start a thread because you're bored. Use the search function, and if it doesn't already exist, and you feel that it would contribute to the site either in helpfulness, or entertainment, then proceed in creating a detailed, and easily understandable thread. 5) Please don't just copy/paste links to news articles, and do nothing more than say "Thoughts?"

- Learn how to use features like bolding, centering, tlpdising, linking, quoting. They are very useful!
- Don't be a dick in stream chat, streamers are not TL mods and have different standards so beware.
- Always viciously insult flamewheel's judgement in the Power Rank.

Contribute whatever you can, whenever it's called for.
Some of us don't have it in us to make chainmail, post for years with only haikus, enlighten people in strategy, or whatever else, but just about everyone will find thread that's desperately looking for something they know.
Don't feel the need to post too often

For me TL is the last refuge of intelligent though and discussion on the internet. Respect that.

Don't post memes. It totally takes away from discussion and annoys the hell out of people. If you have nothing important to say about the topic at hand don't post at all.

If you do wish to publish your masterpiece, CTRL C it first or it might be gone forever when the site logs you out or w/e.

Perfect example of how NOT to post. Shame on you, Kelly.

If you're new: Read a lot more than you post. By reading other users you'll eventually get the grip on what kind of content is allowed, when it's allowed and where it's allowed.

Don't be an idiot. It's really that simple...

Not sure what's being discussed today on Team Liquid? Check the Hot Threads page. It's awesome.

Make sure everyone knows your opinion about whether Huk is a Korean or a foreigner. This is a debate of epic proportions, and you'll regret it if you don't take part in it! Every time you close the stream because of a caster, post about it to let everyone know. Remember when you played team games in BW and everyone would say "lag" as soon as there was a bit of lag in the game? The same thing applies on TL when you're watching a stream that lags! If there is a thread about female SC2 players, whether it be a team or a tournament, you MUST complain about it. Typically you accuse the tournament or team manager of being sexist and claim that the players would get no attention if they weren't female. After all, giving a girl the opportunity to play for a professional team is the fastest way to kill ESPORTS! If there's a thread about Destiny, you are required by law to post in it that he's a terrible player and speculate about what his ranking would be without infestors. And finally, remember that the result of a SC2 game should only ever be decided by whichever player clicks the fastest in 20 minutes. If someone ever wins because of their strategy rather than their ability to click super fast in 20 minutes, it is your duty to whine about it here so that one day, tournaments will finally implement that NR20 rule that makes sure the better player always wins. + Show Spoiler + Don't forget to always point out that apm doesn't mean anything, followed by example of pro with low apm to prove it, after all everyone thinks apm is everything and you are the only person ever to realise it isn't so. and make sure to point out to anyone posting in the strat forum a strategy that his strategy will never work because X counters it, or alternatively that it will never work vs good players and therefore is invalid. Never let anyone get away with a blog even remotely suggesting he got a nice life without calling it a bragblog. And always tell people in the tech support forum to get a bigger power supply! more watt is always better, just to be safe.
Also, since SjoW doesn't scout early game no one else should.
Always post inb4close to increase post count, even in threads with good discussion.

I am a new TL'er with only a few post under me, but my biggest piece of advice would be in the context of the search function. If you have used it and you couldn't find a thread on a topic of interest, it is possible your "keywording" is a bit off. I recommend searching google as "site:teamliquid.net [keywords here]" I have found threads this way when the search function came up with nothing.

Don't say things to each other that you wouldn't say to your grandmother. Respect.

Be kind. Don't flame people. Let moderators deal with trolls/idiots/flamers/etc. They're really good at doing that.

Another good point: Don't be a backseat mod. It makes you look like stupid, telling a mod what do to basically. Stuff like "ooh he should be banned" or "why isn't he banned??" is ill-advised, especially when coming from new users.
