Hey everyone,

I recently had to move my plex server to a new computer and thought I'd share my experience to help anyone else who might be in the same boat. Moving a plex server can seem daunting, but with a few steps, it’s quite manageable.

First, make sure you have a backup of your plex server database. This ensures you don't lose your media libraries and settings. Next, install the plex server software on your new computer. Once installed, copy the backup files to the appropriate directory on the new system.

After setting up your plex server on the new machine, you may need to reconfigure your media libraries and network settings. Don't forget to update your router settings to point to the new IP address of your plex server if you’re using a static IP.

Finally, ensure that all your devices are connected to the new plex server. It might take a bit of tweaking, but once everything is set up, you should be good to go.
