This phrase has become a rhetorical question like Do you believe in god? I answer both with No. Many people act surprised and a bit disgusted thinking: You are one of them, aren't you? Yes I am one of them. I don't want to be your virtual friend and I don't want to know what you are doing right now. I don't want to be in a group with a funny name and I don't want to go to your stylish party. We can talk in rl, maybe we can share mobile numbers, but that is it. I don't want people to ask me: I haven't seen you on facebook lately, anything wrong? That is none of your business.
Also, I don't have my mobile on all the time. No. I don't read all my mails every day, let alone answer them asap. The important ones I do read, yes, but: How is it going mate, I haven't heard of you much lately? I will not answer right now. I will answer these emails, but right now I'd rather spend time working out or watching a movie.
Are you having drug problems, because I have been trying to call you all night yesterday and your phone was off. FFS have you ever heard of the shitty batteries that are in our mobile phones? I don't run around charging it every fucking second day. There is no point in it. There is also no point in having games on my phone. I have a PC, I can play shitty flash games on it too, you know? Give me a phone that has a better battery than graphics, please. That will make me really happy.
I don't blame you, it is in your nature to be like that. I do understand. However, understand that I have a nature too. I am not like you and you are not like me. Lets be friends. In real life. Not on facebook.

I have a FB, though I never use it. Everybody does annoying shit like 'like for ...' and tries to act cool. 'haha I had a great time with blablabla we did crazy shit lol that was great' annoys me beyond recognition.
|
But OP, do you have Google + ?
|

I dont have a phone, and I don't have FB, I like being able to have my own time when I want it. My friends adjust and its fine. People can email me, I can phone anyone in North America with google for free, I can use skype for international ppl.
|
The only reason I have a fb is so I can use it to find out when my friends are lying to me.

you are a butterfly
but really, i can kind of understand... i mostly keep facebook for close friends and relatives - to organize get-togethers and keep in touch.. it is going away when i get g+

I have FB becouse it's easy to get something to do from there or just chat if I'm bored. Way easier than trough phone(unless you want to contact someone that is offline). no need to think who you're going to call. Pretty much everybody has facebook profile these days. It's not like theres anything wrong about it. Pretty much everyone has mobile phones also, it hasn't always been like that. Pretty much everyone have internet also. It's easy since you can go to facebook from everywhere wheres just a computer and internet access, no need to download any software.
I know few ppl that doesn't have FB-account, but those are mostly ppl with not too many friends or people that doesn't go out much.

Oh my god, I thought I was the only one who despised the electronic leash syndrome.
We should start a facebook group! Just kidding. I hate that shit.

I wish I was as cool as you, I'm just another facebook using sheep amirite.

I dont get people like you. Is this some sort of hipster trend, a hatred of facebook. As far as im concerned you sound about as weird and strange as someone ranting that they hate mobile phones becuase it ruins real life communication or some other rubbish. I heard technology is a good way to communicate over long distance....

As long as you don't use it as a substitute does it really matter?
Plus there's been plenty of times where I've gotten to know people better over facebook and that led us to becoming actual friends IRL.

I've used Facebook in the past, but I never found it to be all that great.
What really irritates me is that whenever I walk out of the school library after playing starcraft, at least 90% of the school computers have a fb screen on them. There's much better stuff to do on the internet people D:

You could also talk about that to real people instead of posting on online forum to virtual people you don't know anything about.
