Totally agree! Well with an attitude like that, I expect yours to go down pretty quickly.

Meanwhile bomber has in 26 games 100% winrate in TvZ (8) and TvT (1) but only 47% (17) in TvP and has big protoss imba signs

Since the patch is new, the system has been impulsed and will be in a transcient state before returning to steady state.

To be fair, Terran has been getting raped on ladder for quite some time now. It's hard to see whether they're approximately just as fucked as usual, or especially fucked.

I dig the speed on the Oracle and think it's a nice touch but I do think the damage needs to be toned down a bit. More speed = more longevity = more utility which is cool, so less damage would probably even things out.

Its going to be so nuts for Homestory Cup to be happening immediately after the patch--given how much goofiness happens at HSC to begin with, I'm anticipating some truly crazy builds and strats since people will still be figuring stuff out. Should be fun.

I'd like the Oracle to be a bit more stable and controllable but less game-ending at times.
Most of the changes are moot without some kind of photon overcharge tweak, at least in TvP. Haven't seen many TvZs on stream yet to see if anything cool is going down.

There needs to be less game ending type of stuff in Starcraft. It's simply not fun to watch or play against.

Bomber hate oracle. Will have PTSD when need Christmas ornaments. Must find way to counter proxy bullshit.

I'd be fine with an Oracle damage reduction (not too much, but a some)...provided they swap their health and shield values. So instead of 100 health and 60 shields, they'd have 60 health and 100 shields. They'd still be oneshotted by widow mines and they wouldn't be any stronger if you just tried to stand and fights, but if you darted in and pulled out you could regenerate a bit more. Combined with the improved mobility from this patch, it would really create a dynamic where the Oracle is sort of continuously poking here and there to pick off units and keep the Terran on their toes, but doesn't do such high damage that it simply ends the game outright if the Terran's not perfectly prepared. It could reward skilled players even more (because they have the apm to stay active with it), while reducing its impact in lower leagues (where fewer players have the ability to scout and react perfectly).

whats with all the whining. The patch has been out ffor 3 days and there are so many tears in this thread I might have to start building an arc.
It took protoss MONTHS to figure out how to beat a 1 /1 /1 untill people stopped doing it. At the beginning of HOTS terran was mowing down everything with hellbats.
Just because bomber has some troubles in tvp doesnt mean the matchup is broken. EVERY player has a matchup he is weak at.
There is a reason behind all those changes - and blizzard has been doing a damn good job of balancing in HoTs, they have their reasons for this patch - and you can trust that they will nerf things if they dont like them.
>>> YOU <<< have NO idea why a .2 increase in siege tank attack speed is better than a 0.3 attack speed increase. Just the fact that blizzard finetuned that change by such a little margin has to mean they did extensive testing with it.
|
Just going off topic but has blizzard ever showed any data that shows win % in a matchup in a given time period? e.g. 0~10min, 11~20min, 21~30mins and so forth?
This would be much more helpful than "every matchup is at 50% +/-1% so everything is fine and fun.."

I definitely think that Terrans have gotten shafted by this patch. I think the best way for Terran to do better is to increase the depth of micro suggested by LaLush because Terrans are arguably the most micro intensive races (stuttersteping and bio splits).
But right now, we should give it and see how well the meta shapes up.

Don't forget Stephano's 3 base Speed Roach/Ling all-in in ZvP. Protoss figured out that you need a good chunk of immortals and sentry, thus starting the 2 base sentry/immortal all-in.

I think Homestory cup is going to be very interesting, and a good chance to see Pros testdrive the new patch.

Man, so many smart changes can be made and thought of by the community(no sarcasm) that is a great idea to achieve what they want with the unit.

I think the main issue is the trust or there lack of for Blizzard. When BL/ infestor were shown to be a problem, Blizzard simply buried their head in the sand and just kept repeating that it was fine and the win rates were even.
Yes, and how long did the 1-1-1 dominate TvP? How long was the 4 Gate a real issue?
Blizzard has no idea what they are doing. And it isn't just me saying this with 20/20 hindsight.
I warned them before the Warpgate nerf (Patch 1.3.3) that Protoss wouldn't be able to punish a heavily teching Terran anymore, and that tech builds would dominate ( http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/topic/2416114960 )... I quote "So the Terran player could potentially go up the majority of his tech tree with no risk against Protoss". And then we had the 1-1-1 dominate. I also said that such a change would kill Gate expands in PvZ. And they died.
The funny thing is, 6 months after I suggested on their forum not allowing warp-ins on ramps (my alternative to the warp gate nerf), they did exactly that. Too bad they had to totally ruin Protoss with a huge warp gate change first.
And that is only one of my many threads. And I'm not alone, lots of people have had the same insight on many issues only to be totally ignored, have Blizzard try something utterly ridiculous, then realize it wasn't a good idea and do what the community told them to do in the first place. Remember Warhounds? I swear to god, if I balanced this game, it would be so much better.
Alright, sorry, rant over.

As for the TvP, I remember watching Innovation v. Trap and Ryung vs. Dear last night on GSTL. Innovation has been using widow mines to prepare for any oracles and harassment purposes (when Innovation scouted that Trap had no stargates). Ryung, on the other hand, has been using the reaper aggressively and some marines to control the map.
Terran are actively trying to figure out what to do with the meta, so give this patch some time, okay?
