Clem lost to zoun, is he not top 5 anymore either? what would u be saying if it was maru who lost to zoun? you'd probably be even harder on him. and It's not like Maru got easy opponents. Anyone could lose to dark/classic. I think its easy to be critical of maru's level because he used to beat everyone and that isn't the case anymore, but saying he isn't a top player might be jumping the gun. Lets see how the rest of 2025 develops. | ||

He hasn’t done anything in months, he doesn’t play weeklies, in the two tournaments he has played he’s bombed out in round 1. It’s extremely hard to make a case for Maru being in better shape than any of Serral/Clem/herO/MaxPax, so absolutely best case scenario he’s at #5 and I don’t think he’s even there currently. Hey, guy’s been a top player for over a decade, he’s got injury issues. He’s shown unbelievable StarCraft on many an occasion. He’s not currently | ||

Maru bombed out of the last two tournaments he played (winning only one map in five Bo3s), he missed the Top 3 at Homestory Cup and also missed the Top 4 at EWC. And he didn't other to show up to any other tournament in between. Sorry, but he clearly is not in the Top 5 right now. "Not playing" does not save your place in the ranking for all time. | ||

You’re the one filling in blanks as I never wrote Maru off? :S He’s lost his last 7 series, including one to Lancer and hasn’t played much tournament StarCraft. I’m sure he’ll be back in form at some stage, or alternatively just actually retiring depending on further scene announcements. I can’t see him grinding with his injury issues if potential paydays aren’t there. | ||
