Week of Feb 17 - Feb 23

The third week of February gave us the slight break from the monotony of 'Clem destroys everyone,' as herO took down his nemesis in the finals of Monday Night Weeklies to earn a rare cup win over the Liquid Terran. However, it was still another strong week overall for Clem, who ended up splitting the competitions 2-2 with herO.

Feb 17: WardiTV Mondays #23

The week can't officially begin without Clem winning WardiTV Mondays, right? The king of the cups won his fourth straight WardiTV Mondays in a row, going through Goblin, Trigger, Solar, and MaxPax on his way to the title. The finals vs MaxPax was your usual Clem TvP fare, featuring an all-around mix of strong early aggression and overpowering mid-game macro VOD).

Feb 17: Monday Night Weeklies #5

Monday Night Weeklies was the stage for the biggest upset of the week, as herO took two BO3 wins over Clem (both 2-1) in the double-elimination bracket to come out as weekly champion. During this extended 'off-season' period, Clem had an overwhelming head-to-head match advantage of 17-5 going into this match, so it was surely an encouraging result for herO.

It's hard to pinpoint a single key factor that helped herO win this time around, as he had generally played close games against Clem despite the overall results favoring the Liquid ace. The early-game did seem to go a bit better for him than usual, helping him reach the mid-game in good shape and win with Colossus-centric compositions (VOD).

Feb 17: PiGosaur Cup #19

The PiGosaur Cup had extra stakes this week, doubling as a qualifier into the upcoming PiG Sty Festival #5.

herO[/b] ended up 'winning' the spot with a strong run that saw him defeat Gerald, Solar, and Cure in the later rounds, but as he already had an invited spot, the ticket passed down to runner-up Cure. It was a pretty deserved qualification berth for Cure, who gave herO a tough, five game battle in the grand finals. While Cure has been noticeably poor during this off-season period, his solid all-around play gave us some hope that he might be rounding into better form (VOD).

Feb 12-23: WardiTV February

We closed the week out with WardiTV February, which saw its two week journey conclude on Sunday night. As many expected, we saw herO and Clem survive the group stages and bracket to emerge as the final two survivors, playing for the $500 first place prize.

Unfortunately for herO, he couldn't find the spark that had allowed him to upset Clem earlier in the week, and he conceded a 1-3 defeat in the finals (VOD (final day)).
