It was the initial reactions of people reading it on paper that may have been overblown. Once you play the patch, you see that all the changes were pretty awesome and well thought out. Phoenix used to have some weird ass overload ability that did insane damage but left them inert for like 5 seconds. Glad that crap was removed. Also the Thor casting storm ability you're thinking of was the idea during HotS alpha to change 250mm cannons to an AOE ability instead of a single target ability. I guess that was too op in testing and they went with the current 250mm cannons we have today. The original idea for revival after death was actually for the Thor. They were able to get rebuilt where they died on the battle field, but that was removed cause you could imagine the ridiculous litter of dead Thors everywhere on the map. And this idea was back in WoL alpha when Thors were more like the Odin from the campaign. I remember one of the cooler ideas was that Corruptors were supposed to get the ability to switch from flying to ground mode like Vikings, but that was removed cause I think Blizz couldn't animate the tentacles or something. | ||

And you are Right we will have to "adapt" until LotV comes out then we will get a few units then they will be nerfed to the ground then we will have to "adapt" again LOL | ||

Buyback changes, Roshan respawn changes, Radiant offlane is much easier than Dire offlane, etc. Not to say it isn't overblown, but it's still a lot more hate for that patch than this one. ...and that's not even mentioning the Diretide crap... | ||
