Going back to BW, Siege Tanks have always been Tanks in the original sense, not the MMO sense. Wanting Tanks to be good at soaking damage because they happen to share a name with an unrelated term is pretty silly. Also, how would that even work? A super long range unit that is designed to soak up damage on the front lines is an inherent contradiction. Sry, but heavily armored Panzer are far superior to mere infantry.

Worst still is that even though I scout it, they do ridiculous damage anyways.... you scout proxy oracle and get damaged heavily? Protoss players are so fucking dumb.. ^^

And there's this Tempest thing, hardcounter for tanks, with hp/shields/armor as high as a Carrier, for 4 supply.

I still get mauled by a scouted 9 pool, even on a good day.

Edit: I should qualify that throw it up as a Short Term protection until you can safely get a turret up ![]()

TvZ was already getting really hard, it´s now just even harder. You are not allowed to lose anything without trading efficiant, because while widow mines still do their job kinda okay, they are just not that efficiant anymore to equal out loses like an intercepted drop. Just my personal view on things, after a frustrating day of european master league...

I am still frustrated by the Oracle changes. A unit that is so dependent on proxying and so all-or-nothing. Combined with photon overcharge it makes early game TvP so frustrating. Envision and revelation are good abilities with utility. I'd love to see an Oracle with some other spell that works in a supporting role. No great ideas here mind, but say shutting down static D so phoenixes can do their shit. Protoss never needed another harassment unit, they need ways to use their options more effectively. For me the Phoenix is the epitome of a good harassment unit, requires attention and multitasking to use to its potential and has some cool tricks it can do like lifting your own units to save them

Actually almost anything other than the traditional 1 rax expand into 3 rax before gas works well against proxy oracle if scouted. I've been playing super safe and slow with 1 reaper opening into 2 widow mine 4 marine drop with first medvac. Reactor expand usually keeps me pretty safe too. The solution isn't to build tons of static D, but to get enough units out in time to repel the oracle. Even off 1 rax expand, if I adjust and saturate my main first I can cover enough ground to not take too much damage from it. The only way to really take significant losses is to be out of place. I don't know what level you play at, but it sounds like pretty low. (no offense) The balance really doesn't matter at all, it is your mechanics that is keeping you in the lower leagues.

Your tears taste delicious. It admittedly took a very long while for pro Zergs to figure out how to defeat widow mines. I expected to see a nerf to widow mines 4-5 months ago. But now they have figured it out. The nerf isn't necessary anymore, and will make a balanced matchup unbalanced.

The idea of it came about very early when Life showed it off in one of the first few HoTS tournaments. It took awhile for it to be super consistent against multi-pronged aggression.
