You lied to EG and the community about "your" friends. So you got what you deserved. Don't be an ass on ladder. The N word bugged me. But what you did, was total bullshit.
We are not dumb and people will prove your lies wrong. So now you know to smarten up and come out straight when something like this happens again. Most people won't change in this world but lets see if you will defy that (probably not).

About fucking time orb paid for his douchebag, immature, rageharding attitude. I can't believe it took THIS LONG for people to notice his problem all these times.
EG overreacted and the team (not the players) lost a lot of respect in my book ppl shouldnt be offended so easly. Honestly, if you were offended by what orb said, your a cry baby.
But then there are also some ppl who say they are offended or would be if they were black, those drama queens are even worse.
Honestly, i have been bullied and mocked at quite a lot in real life but i always laughed it off and never really cared for anything they said.

Serious question, do you work or are you in school? And if you work, what would your company do if you used the same language in a place where many others could not only see/hear it but record it?

I really hate this whole attitude the starcraft community has... Do you really think filtering out people like orb and censoring everything about them is going to draw in more viewers and make esports bigger? Have you ever considered that maybe not everyone is interested in starcraft and enjoys watching it?
Do you enjoy watching LoL? Probably not. If their community censored out bad casters, would that make you want to watch it more? NO.
Stop trying to make esports grow by censoring everything and trying to make your community more respected... it isn't going to work. You're just making people angry because you are making everyone feel bad about every little tiny thing that they do on ladder or elsewhere. I bet you are the same people who try to control everybody else in life and have everything your way.
The only thing that tells me about you is that you are too dumb to understand why the words are offensive. It's because you keep talking about it. Stop talking about it and it is no longer a problem.

I don't think he was "filtered out" to increase viewership, but because the language he used was offensive. Not everything is done to expand esports. And whilst I agree such words are only offensive because of our attitudes towards them, this is not the correct platform through which to advocate such a movement.
Axe.zerg, I have to agree with you, but there are times when we do need to talk about it.
Like right now.
Yes, there are a lot of people offended by orb's choice of words; and there are a lot of people not offended by it.
But if we don't bring it up when it is necessary, then we are not actively trying to stop it.
After this storm has passed, we definetly should stop talking about it. Some of us will forgive him; others will not care; and yet more will continue to crucify orb.
But orb has apologized, and whether his apology is accepted by the community only time will tell.
However, orb, you really need to be careful with your words. The community is watching you. The community won't forget, and if you ever, ever, ever do this again, you will be seen as a fake, liar, bigot, racist, etc. We all deserve a second chance, but there is no such thing as strike three.
Remember, when you have a large audience you have to realize that your words might offend someone. Now unless you are a comedian like George Carlin (someone link his piece on swear words and the meanings behind them please. it is funny) you can't get away with racial slurs.
And if you are truly apologetic, you had better read every single response on this thread. Because if all you did was post a well written apology, but not follow up with the communities criticism, then you aren't 100% sincere.

How many threads about racism did you read on Teamliquid prior to this one? And what was the catalyst to this? An individuals penchant for throwing around racial slurs. It stands to reason if you don't want to see race talk, eliminating an obvious source of it like the prevalence of racial slurs in online gaming, is a great place to start. Don't you think Morgan Freeman, who doesn't want people to call people white people and black people, also doesn't want to hear ethnic or racial perjoratives since not only do they single people out based on their race (which according to the video you linked he doesn't want) but they do it in a derogatory way.
Not to mention you're talking about censorship when the rest of your post is about telling everyone to stop doing something
I pity you Orb, I have no clue why the community is throwing you off board and marking you as a racist. I guess saying "nigger" to someone on ladder is a terrible thing in American culture, I don´t know, I´m not from the US. But getting cannon-rushed by Gaulzi can make you understandably mad and calling someone a "nigger faggot" is something I don´t personally have a problem with. "Nigger tactics" or whatever else, saying it in some rage on ladder isn´t the worst thing in the world, who cares? Would this shit storm be so big if you said "faggot tactics"? I don´t think so, for some reason using the word "faggot" seems to be ok, but nigger isn´t. As I said, i´m not from the US, I don´t know your culture that well but offensive words seem to be looked worse upon there then here in the EU. Who hasn´t raged on ladder and called someone a faggot? I´ve called countless people "stupid fucking faggots", never used the word nigger since it´s just no in my "normal" curse-word vocabulary.
90%+ of the people here have raged on ladder and called out some curse words to the opponent, but what do they really mean? 99% of the time that you are frustrated with losing to an opponent you feel was playing shit, hence you were playing even worse since you lost to that guy and you are venting your frustration at that. You are not actually saying someone is an african american homo sexual with downs syndrome, just that you are frustrated at losing to someone who played silly.
Now, going up to a black person and saying "You are a fucking nigger" is racist. Going up to a gay person and saying "you are a fucking faggot" is...wrong (dno what word to use, same as racist, just not attacking his race but his sexuality). Those are abusive words used to describe their skin color/sexuality in a way that is supposed to be demeaning to them, using their actual sexuality/skin color to do so. However, calling some random dude/chick over the internet a fucking nigger faggot, is not something that makes you racist, nor does it say you hate gay people. I have nothing against gay people and get along with them just fine, still I use the word "faggot" on the internet like there is no tomorrow, it doesn´t make me treat homosexuals any worse.
People need to calm down, EG reacted to the heavy fire they were under when it became financial, they are on their knees asking people to go to the sponsors and say good things about them. Fire-ing orb is just their way to try to react to the situation, doing the financially right thing. If you are a masters player, you´d have to be Sheth or WhiteRa not to have BM-ed a shitload of times on the ladder, EG knows people have BM-ed, their own players have done so (IdrA amongst others), but now when it´s financial, they go all "omg how terrible finding this out, here we have 3 cases of a player who was not contracted and was just playing for fun RAGING on the ladder and saying "nigger" and "faggot"...how terrible and how surprising". HOW is it surprising to EG that everyone has something like this on their back? I just don´t get it...But money is money, and since I´m not from the US and don´t get the big fuss, I´m just going to say I don´t get this shit and hope this Orb guy just continues to cast and have fun with it, people that like him can watch him, and countless people seem to be ok with some abuse on streams, or Destiny wouldn´t be making money at all. Btw, Destiny used to be more vulgar/abusive...Destiny also used to have more people on his stream...weird how that works...
It's a shame Orb I really liked your casting! We all make mistakes. Sadly when you become a prominent figure in a community you lose that privilege.
Personally I find little value in words. There's just too many individual interpretations that there's really no accuracy in the act of conversation. People who take offence from something you said to some random dude on ladder are really just being ruled by emotion in my opinion.

I'll admit I haven't been around for most of this discussion, but through reading this morning the overwhelming thing that I keep noticing about a lot of these posts is the same thing that I've highlighted in yours above. I know it's the not the main focus of your post, and for that I apologize for singling you out...but, you did exhibit the same thoughts.
Regardless of whether you agree/disagree with what orb did, why do so many people seem to dismiss that possibility for repricussions for ones actions. "Have to worry about every little thing they do", why aren't people already worrying about everything they do? Just because its a rage over a video game, we shouldn't care how an individual reacts? They should get a pass?
I think that's laughable, people need to continue to take ownership of how they act. It doesn't matter if its on the internet or in real life, you are the one who chooses to act the way you do, so you should also be prepared for the consequences that might come as a result of the decisions you make.
Orb, like him or not, is now a public relations DISASTER and his personality is toxic. Nobody is going to want to touch him with a 10 foot pole.
Frankly, A part of me is immensely satisfied seeing an entitled, whiny and immature baby get his just desserts. It taps into that urge that EVERY ONE of us has had running into somebody like him on the latter/matchmaking/etc.
Kid is paying the price for acting like a douchbag. The online gaming world NEEDS more accountability like this.

"Nigger" is in the US like you call a EU "Nazi" and should never be accepted, in every decent, serious tournament you get kicked out for it. If you work in community and are a known public person you have to be way more careful then a random player. Everyone is old enough to think before he types childish, low brain flames. I hope he and others learned out of this issue

LOL If anyone has been following eSports since before SC2 should know how weird and confusing this community can be.
We praise the good mannered and crucify the bad. Before SC2 Was released it was VERY RARE for there to be any sort of Good manners in MOST if not EVERY eSports title.
If the same actions used on orb are carried through other games, We would have NO eSports!
I would understand the Good manners only if this were like a Co-Op, semi non violence game say like Portal 2, But if i'm about to crush some skulls Online or Lan for Money, I'm NOT going to be a nice person.
Starcraft brood war ? I didn't see or hear a bw caster flame or be bad mannered online. And if you're an ass because it's online, then more power to you but I wouldnt like to play with you.
I am inactive playing Me3 and King Arthur 2 for 1 week and this is what happens. I really hope u come back to casting, i do not think any reasonable human being is mad with you for bming on ladder :/
