Let's just wait and see. Nobody wins everything, everyone has ups and downs. Speculation is useless. Only after his sc2 year and looking at the full year results shall i have an opinion. About doctors, 6k would be family doctors. It's not that bad, i'm an IT oriented soldier, sarge, and i make 1.4k a month... My ex was planning on those 6k as a regular dentist and her father, neurosurgeon in saudi arabia made around 15/18k.

If your foresight is as absolute as you make it sound, who has the right playstyles and motives to win future events?

If others can adapt, why would he be the only one not able to?... Let's just wait and see. Nobody wins everything, everyone has ups and downs. Speculation is useless. Now it's up to him to readjust and force everyone to adapt once again.

I myself am studying medicine, but definitely not for the money. It's not a bad life by any means, but you won't get rich fast with it. It takes a LOOONG time to reach high paying spots, and most are taken and are extremely difficult to get to. It's possible but it is highly unlikely, and if it does happen, it won't happen anywhere near your 20s/30s. More like your 50s Although I don't really care about this discussion, I'd like to chip in here. He has never said that he wants to be a doctor for money. He plays SC2 to earn money for his studies, he has said that it is his dream to become a doctor. If he wants to do that, I'd say it's a good choice. The world rather needs good, passionate doctors than good SC2 players.

They didn't just react to his style in a game, but specifically prepared for it. That's changing the ZvT metagame and changing the way how Zerg is played. sAviOr in BW had a similar effect, but his was much more profound. Most Zergs have been figured out, Terrans have timing pushes and unit comps to play against the muta/ling/bling players and styles to use against the roach/ling/bling players. Unless you start preparing early against Stephano's style, you're going to have an extremely tough time winning the game.

true great players have a solid playstyle that cant be figured out. Ummm... Anyone can figure out anyone else's playstyle by watching replays and figuring out build orders and timings, what side of the base he sends air harass / drops through, what spots on a map he likes to fight engagements at... That's why pros try to develop new builds and timings in customs with teammates and friends, to try to surprise the competition at tournaments.

1. That he can do better on the KR ladder than any other foreigner. He's managed a 70% win rate (2nd best zerg on the ladder after DRG) and his MMR is as high as it gets, so he's constantly matched against the top of the KR ladder (makaprime (ie, Byun -- not MKP), squirtle, nestea, etc. All of the other top foreigners (e.g., Huk, Idra, Thorzain, Select) have barely managed a +50% win rate. Deride that achievement however you like -- ladder doesn't matter; no one takes it seriously; etc. But players are trying and all of the top code S pros manage at least 60% + win rates so perhaps having a high win rate doesn't mean you're the next GSL champ but it does mean you have you're very adaptive and have great multitasking and mechanics. Also, everyone within a week or two knew who Stephano was on the ladder and the KR terrans started blind countering his mass ling build and -- guess what -- losing, because Stephano changed his build by adding banelings in (and simply doing different builds, something which he was always capable of doing). 2. That he can hang with the very best players in the world, as illustrated by his play in the Blizzard cup (although we pretty much already knew this since he's won IPL 3, the IPL 4 regional qualifiers and the ESWC). 3. That he can impress at least some of the top KRs with his play -- see the interview where MVP says he was "emotional" when he watched Stephano play against Hero and thought he definitely is code S material. (I'm guessing the "emotional" reaction of MVP is a bit of a translation glitch (and an amusing one at that) but he still came away quite impressed.) It's interesting that MVP of all people spoke so highly of Stephano since his game against Stephano was the least competitive -- MVP blindly assumed Stephano was going mass ling and was right. At present, IMO, Stephano is the best hope foreigners have of a "dominant" SC2 player (or at least someone who could win more than one GSL), but that's never going to happen for a couple reasons: 1. Stephano's leaving to study medicine this year. 2. He doesn't want to play in the GSL. If you don't play in the GSL I don't think you can be considered a "dominant" or "great" SC2 player. Too bad. For Stephano's fans you only have about 8 months left before school starts and he's gone for good. Better enjoy his play while it lasts.

You couldn't be more wrong. He's never going to leave for school medicine in 8 months. The guy talks too high of himself and just want to impress people. Thats his personality. If he's still doing good for the next year, he's going to stay for sure.
