You claim he's overrated,, then say code s r8 would be his peak? I think many players (stephano included) would be quite happy with that so I have a tough time labeling him as overrated when you have those type of standards.
I said he's currently overrated. He's not at his peak yet, so you can't quite say he's achieved that goal. While he does have talent, he has yet to prove himself in the GSL. I ignore the IPL for various reasons. Without too many great results all the hype does not match his results; therefore, calling him overrated is valid at this point.

when evaluating a player's skill/results it is best not to ignore one of the biggest tourneys of the year

In fact IMmvp and IMnestea are pretty terrible players, but i ignore GSL for some reasons (after all it's just a small tounament with some local players, who care about it ?)

I PICKED THIS TINY PART OUT OF YOUR WALL OF TEXT
Ret went on an 80 something percent win rate on ladder just recently as well. PROBLEM BRO?

one of the biggest, not toughest.

That is pretty awesome (even if it is just ladder). What's really weird is that he wasn't placed into GM. Is something wrong with Blizzard's MMR system (eg, they're just matching him up agains scrubs)?

hes not even that good....... won 1 tourney and now hes the best?

Don't let the hate blind you. IPL was certainly was one of the toughest foreign tournaments of the year. The qualifiers were ridiculously brutal (including the qualifier that Stephano won by beating MMA) and featured all of the top koreans other than MVP and Nestea.

MC ripped Stephano up at the Blizzard Cup. He's not good at all compared to the top Koreans like Mvp, MC, Nestea etc...

Exactly, when he plays Code A and Code S Koreans, you can really see the skill gap between Stephano and the top players -- players like MMA, DRG, Violet, Inori, Lucky, theSTC, etc. And especially on ladder he's really been getting his ass handed to him by players like Leenock, Forgg, Sage, etc. Oh wait, he's beaten all of those players. I guess I should have been making the opposite point
Of course I'm sure you don't consider MMA, DRG or Leenock top players. They're as overrated as they come and are just begging to be exposed.

I don't want to bring that topic back up again but Ret has awesome stats on NA ladder while Stephano had them on EU. Watching Rets stream you can clearly see that compared to EU NA is weaker. I don't want to compare the TOP players its just that High Masters/GM on NA,who Ret played seemed like low/mid Masters EU...

IPL 3 was far from one of the biggest. unless you happen to exclude dreamhack, mlgs gsls and such.

I don't know why you place DH above IPL 3. There were better players at IPL 3 (or arguably the same skill level: MMA, MC, HerO, Puma, aLive, Ryunn TheSTC, Inori... and the best foreigners) and the qualifier were tougher. The prizepool was bigger also. The last 3 MLG and the GSL had better players overall but that's why he said "one of the biggest" and not "the biggest".
