Does this mean that we won't be able to see an enemy units health based on color ? Sounds like a bad change in my book. That's more important than seeing who's units are whose. I personally dont have a problem doing this by just looking at the game

Players might not like it for personal reasons, but this is a hugely positive change for viewing competitive games. They can make it optional or not, idc. However it should be in the game.

After reading the title i expected it to look really bad, but that actually looks quite useful.
Hopefully its optional though, as one colour is distracting enough, so in large battles i think it might be easier to see whats going on with just green bars.

Just made me even mroe excited to see MP at blizzcon :D

I want this to be optional. I like seeing colours to decide whether a unit is weaker or stronger instead of actually reading bar and gauging its fullness.

Jeez, are you guys thinking at all when you say "how can u target fire weak units and buildings without them???!!" "pput them on if you want to win!" ?

How do you think BW players focus fire weak units? You box enemy units and it takes no effort at all. In SC2 you even have the option to "tab" health bars on and off during engagements for this purpose.

Especially when spectating I would want to see how much HP each unit has... How do people think getting rid of that feature would be a good thing?

Would rather just see something like the 'stronger team colors' mod someone made (discussed elsewhere on these forums) implemented by blizz for competitive play and have the health bars with their usual green->yellow->red fade based on health values.

They should make transparency of the bar dependent on the health of the unit; ie a full bar is fully transparent (except if the unit is selected), and a 50% hurt unit is 50% transparent. This way you avoid the clutter of 80 zerglings green health bars, and show only the ones that really matter.

But instead they change their color to red.

Alright, I think this change is actually irrelevant. I'd rather just keep hp bars going green to orange/yellow to red based on damage taken. Starcraft is not a game that needs colored HP bars, if it's any non-mirror match up...you should be able to tell that your units are marines (aka the humans and machines) vs the zerglings (aka the bugs...). I wish they would do the options for stronger team colors though, that is a much more helpful way of distinguishing units (and mirror match up situations).

I know, I even do that with a colours that way. 10 zealots vs 10 zealots is almost impossible for me to micro, maybe its just my eye sight

I hope this is optional, I want the green/yellow/red above enemy heads.... it tells me what units I can FF. Also I can tell the strength of an army just at a glance. If everything is just red, I wont easily be able to distinguish a dead unit from a full life one without trying to figure out how long a "healthy" bar is.
