Weekly Cup Competitions
Week of December 15 - 21
by Wax
Classic assuaged concerns about his recent form with a fantastic showing in the $5000 WardiTV 2025 championship, taking down SHIN, Clem, Solar, and other top players on his way to the championship.
The mighty EU duo of MaxPax and Clem stormed through the regular weekly cups, with MaxPax winning the two Monday competitions while Clem won Tuesday's PiGosaur Cup.

December 15: WardiTV Mondays #65

MaxPax picked up the first cup of the week in WardiTV Mondays, defeating Nicoract, Percival, Rogue, and ByuN on his way to the title. Runner-up ByuN provided an assist by upsetting Clem in the semifinals, taking a 2-1 win on the back of a hectic basetrade victory in game three.
Unfortunately for ByuN, he couldn't make his chaos magic work against MaxPax in the finals, with the mysterious Dane taking a 3-1 victory in fairly straight-forward games (VOD).

December 15: Monday Night Weeklies #34

MNW let MaxPax show that he may not have needed ByuN's help in taking care of Clem, as he defeated his rival twice on the way to a weekly double. Although Clem has looked nearly invincible in late-game scenarios, MaxPax's 2-0 and 3-0 victories demonstrated just how hard it can be for Terran to reach that stage when going up against Protoss' Colossus-Gateway armies in the mid-game (VOD).

December 16: PiGosaur Cup #62

After such a thorough beatdown in Monday Night Weeklies, Clem got his revenge in the following day's PiGosaur Cup by sweeping his rival to win the competition. Unlike in his earlier losses, everything seemed to work for Clem in this series, from Hellion run-bys, 2-base Tank pushes, to impenetrable late-game defense (VOD).

The biggest prize of the week went to a slightly unexpected winner, with Classic triumphing in the $5000 WardiTV 2025 event. Classic's uninspiring play in the past few weeks made it seem like he was going through a post-EWC slump, but the WardiTV event saw him flash the rock-solid Protoss play that allowed him to place runner-up at the world championship VOD (final day)).
While it wasn't all that surprising to see Classic return to form after a rough patch, the runner-up player definitely turned some heads. The inconsistent but dangerous SHIN rolled high in the event, defeating the likes of herO, Clem, MaxPax, and even Classic (in the upper bracket) on his way to a runner-up finish. SHIN managed to vex Classic with a litany of unpredictable openers in the upper bracket finals, but Classic looked impervious in the grand finals where he took a 4-0 sweep.
