Weekly Cup Competitions Week of March 23 - March 29herO quelled the recent underdog surge in the final week of March, taking an impressive weekly triple with wins in Monday Night Weeklies, PiGosaur Cup, and the Kung Fu Cup. March 23: WardiTV Mondays #79

World championship runner-up Classic has been an inconsistent player when it comes to weekly cup competition, but he got his name back in the winners' column by defeating HonMonO, MaxPax, Shameless, and herO in WardiTV Mondays.
Classic's 3-2 finals win over herO was a much less cheesier affair than you'd expect from a battle between the two, with third Nexuses actually getting built in several of the games. However, that didn't mean the two Protosses were going away from aggressive tactics—they were just delaying their timings to slightly later windows. Still, the deciding fifth game reverted to the kind of hyper-cheese that we've seen many a time in the herO vs Classic match-up, with Classic prevailing in a duel of mirroring proxy-robo all-ins (VOD).

March 23: Monday Night Weeklies #45

After just barely missing out on first place in WardiTV Mondays, herO proceeded to redeem himself in Monday Night Weeklies with a perfect, lossless run to win the cup. herO punctuated his run with two 2-0's over Clem, taking out his cup arch-rival in both the winners final and grand final.
While the two players generally tend to play straight-up StarCraft against each other, this was one of those weeks where herO decided to remind everyone that 'random DT's' is a strategy that works at every level of StarCraft. On top of that, herO even got an impressive win where he cracked Clem's Ghost-Liberator fortress play—perhaps something to keep an eye on going forward (VOD).

March 24: PiGosaur Cup #74

herO made it a weekly double for himself in the PiGosaur Cup, sweeping MaxPax 3-0 in the finals. While herO has been at the forefront of the 'PvP is a cheesefest' meta, he showed how he can use this reputation against his opponents by getting away with a faster third base in every single game (VOD).

March 25: 2026 Kung Fu Cup Weekly #2
![[image loading]](/staff/Waxangel/misc/weeklies/KFC2026_2.png)
The returned Kung Fu Cup continued to provide more high-level competition, with most of the cup regulars gathering for tournament #2 (we missed the return of the Kung Fu Cup the last week due to an oversight; Solar won 3-1 over herO).
While ByuN continued his recent patch of good form with a deep run, he was ultimately stopped 1-3 in the finals by herO (VOD). The finals reflected the current polarization of the TvP match-up: ByuN took his sole win in a game that went long, while herO prevailed with various early and mid-game tactics to take his three wins.
An upset of note was Rogue's 2-1 over Clem in the RO8—combined with his recent strong showings in RSL Season 4, Zerg fans might have reason to be cautiously optimistic about having more high-level representation in the weekly cups.
