TB streaming Deus Ex won my heart!
If Husky or HD appear on SOTG, the left half of my brain might explode!
JP is doing MLG after PAX east (so attention to his personal media will increase, that is after all how I found out about Team Liquid and SOTG, etc.) and a SOTG will be recorded @ PAX! It'll be a SC2 celebrity HQ and great scenario for a live episode!

This exactly.
Husky has stated his case very well in these few posts, kudos for that. Just goes to show how much there is to gain from keeping your head cool.

Well to be fair he is the "cynical Brit" not "loving Brit"

I really think there needs to be a greater variety of guests for it to get away from that. Husky compared it to "The View" with good reason. The first third of that show is just them talking, with no guest. That's fine for a while, but you have to transition away from it to avoid being too insular. When their guest comes out, the show isn't about the hosts anymore, but about that guest. Host personalities can still stand out, they're just not the focus. Episodes with the MLG people were good for this reason.
Variety is also important, as I stated earlier. Painuser is cool, but when I saw he was the guest, I didn't feel I needed to go through the trouble of downloading it cause I don't think I'm going to hear any new perspectives. Likewise when Idra is a guest.
i think the reason they are struggling to get different people on is that alot of people get offended by incontrol and idra. its sad because when idra sits down to talk he drops all the herpderp your bad and actually explains himself, and incontroll is 9 times out of 10 joking; either way i get the feeling that too many people arent willing to debate sc as aggressively as those 2.
we were promised TB on the show, and i think he would be great to get on at the same time as husky on a week where day9 is able to come on, because then they could discuss different style of commenting and their different communities. maybe the "state of the game live" from pax will let this happen, either way im looking forward to that one.

Husky, you're the man.
I dont really watch you because I've seen most of the games you cast before you cast them, but you do constantly promote others and do a really good job casting so that everyone will understand.
You also handle haters very very well. Keep it up man and help make e-sports fuckin HUGE!

Something that I really dislike about both yours and HD's videos you put up on YouTube is that most of times (from what I can remember) you don't mention where you got the replays from. As in which tournament, who their sponsors are and if it has been casted before. Many times I go to YouTube and try find a game I remember seeing on some other cast and I find a casted version put up by you or HD and it feels like you are both taking content and viewers from the original casters who might even have been an official caster for that tournament.
So yeah, I wish you could give some more credit to the guys you got the replay from and even mention who did cast it originally. I'm sure it won't affect your own viewer count with your already great amount of fame/popularity. Well I'm not surprised to see you ignore this post, Husky. However if you really care about the SC2 community you should realize how serious this is. Using content without giving any credit to the tournament organizer/sponsor.... really bad.

When MLG comes up, even if you are not going to be there you could bring it up to encourage people to check out some of their favorite players that they have seen on your channel. That may help bridge the gap between people who solely watch your channel, and people like me who enjoy your casts but also enjoy seeing the big live tournaments and all the sc2 community has to offer. Meh... maybe it would be too over the top though, I'm not too sure. I hear people say this a lot and I dont really agree with it. It seems to be a 'talking point' as of late. The reasons I dont agree with this are: 1) I heavily promote any event that I attend. If I promoted every single event ever then people would stop being interested in what I have to say about the events. 2) I consistently mention Team Liquid in casts and talk about the players they have on their team (and even go out of my way to cast their games for exposure) 3) I have helped Artosis get his videos into much higher quality. I was able to help TB get to where he is now and he is quickly becoming one of the fastest growing gaming channels on YouTube. I have even given Day9 tips on how to make his videos render more smoothly (are lots of problems with Sony Vegas that take a while to learn). 4) I have also helped put PsyStarcraft on the map (a very good Zerg player) as well as recently helping Moletrap (old school Broodwar favorite) spread his videos to my fans. 5) I am working behind the scenes with tons of gaming companies (which is behind the scenes so obviously others dont quite know about it) for their upcoming tournaments, events, etc. There is a lot of cool stuff in the works! 6) I recently posted several replays from the IEM and have been supporting it like crazy, even telling people where to go for the stream and fully supporting Day9/TheLittleOne. Not saying there isnt more I can do, but I just dont understand why people think I'm not actively trying to spread StarCraft and eSports to as many people as possible. Thinking I dont know anything about the game, that I have an annoying voice, that I'm ugly (100% true), or I just am not the commentator for you are all valid critiques and should be voiced if its your opinion. But anyone who says I am doing this for reasons like fame and fortune and that I am not actively trying to support eSports I honestly think are incorrect. I too agree that everyone in the community should work together. Neither of us is a threat to one another (have heard rumors that other personalities see me as stepping on their toes or something, which I think is ridiculous). Contrary to popular believe I dont have beef with anyone, especially IdrA (who I love casting because he's A) good and B) a fan favorite), Incontrol (who is just an oversized and slightly disproportioned teddy bear), and anyone else who people think I have a problem with. There are lots of personalities in the StarCraft community (which is great awesoooome) and we all want the best for the game. We all have completely different styles and techniques for how we think we can help the sport get to where it needs to, but that doesnt mean we dont want the same thing. In the end, haters gonna hate. Edit: I also teamed up with TLO to explode his facebook and heavily promote his livestream.
This shuts down alot of the unfounded criticism. You have taken the initiative and done some awesome innovative stuff and brought it to the masses (HDH?, pro music videos?, 1080/720 HD quality vids, Gamestation).
Remember these thing Husky:
The hundred thousand people + who regularly watch your vids do so because you have got it right (you are at least, the most accessible total package for entertainment SC2 casting) . People vote with their feet (or their time with youtube) Keep doing what you doing 100% and think carefully before trying to change anything to accommodate a few vocal critics. Evolve and improve over time on your own accord as you already do, but never feel forced to because of a some dicks who verbally abuse you.

All you have to do is watch his most recent cast to realise that there is no truth to this. He mentions Day9/TLO/Intel/World Championships so many times, it actually gets kind of annoying, and he did address this earlier.

Wow, I'm glad I stumbled upon this discussion/arguement.
To support Husky,
I only found out about teamliquid around summertime (When the beta was going down for a month) because he kept name-dropping Team Liquid and he did the showmatch with Day9 and Tasteless. He's been spreading e-sports since before the game was even released, so get off his case.

Props to Husky. You're not my favorite caster, but I think you don't get the credit you deserve

If I know where a replay is from I will say it in the cast. You can see that in my most recent videos and can also see that in the TL replays I cast.
When I do a cast I have a notepad open with talking points on my second monitor (this usually includes where the replay is from, the stats for the players and anything else I can reasonably find out about it). Some times I dont get to all of them or I completely forget because I get into the game. Also, I simply do not know where every single replay is from on my channel. With over 800 videos (not to mention the 700 BW videos I used to have) there is bound to be some in there that I dont say 'THANKS TO COCACOLA, INTEL, REDDIT, TEAM LIQUID, MY MOM AND WATER FOR BRINGING US THIS FASCINATING REPLAY' but I have actively been trying to promote those who provide good replays for the community.
As far as mentioning who has casted the replay before me, if someone is paid or sponsored to do a replay and I pick it up as well (I almost never do this unless I have permission or I know the company wants the replays to be public) then I will mention them if I know the origins of the replay.

Just want to say that Husky & HD is the reason I found out about team liquid and bought the game in the first place! In my eyes they are great for the community.

I just want to say thank you, Husky! I think you have been an integral part in SC2 becoming as popular as it is now. People criticize you but I think you handle it really well; you seem like a great guy.
I'm really excited to watch you and Day9 cast together! That's going to be amazing. It's only one event but you guys will be the power couple of SC2 I think
Edit: Alongside Tasteless and Artosis, of course.

I don't expect you to promote all sponsors of the tournaments' replays you are casting. All I want is there to be some mention and credits to where you got it from. It's just a standard procedure whenever you are using content that is not yours to give out source(s) of where you got it from.
Even though I don't really go watch your videos on YouTube very often I'll take the opportunity to thank you as well for what you are doing for SC2 and its community. No matter if one can criticize the way you do stuff and the quality of it you do have a huge following which brings a lot of attention to the game and the esports scene. Keep it up.

I had no clue about Team Liquid before I found Husky, he talked about the website so much during the beta, that I had to check it out, when I did I fell in love with TL.
I understand that every caster has a different approach to their job, some like a strict analytical approach, some mix that with humor. I feel like Husky does a great Job with entertainment with his casts. His approach I feel is a really good for people who are just entering the SC2 community.
If everyone cast games like Day9 (which wouldn't be a bad thing ), people who are just getting into SC2 would have a hard time following, and this is where I believe Husky shines, his commentary allows people with little or no gaming experience enjoy what SC2 has to offer, and in turn helps spread Esports to an audience that would normally not be exposed to it.

I also found out about TL through husky. granted this was back in BW days, but it still applies. i dont really listen to much of his stuff anymore, but he is really great for the community. thanks husky.
and incontrol, stop streaming so late!! i wanna watch!! =P

Id like to say i fully support Husky. I dont watch him now but i subscribed to him back in the day when he only had 2k subscribers. He was one of the few people that attempted to pump out constant broodwar commentary. If that isnt passion i dont know what is because that shit was time consuming, And he didnt really do it for the subscriptions but the love of the game. Husky will always have a place in my heart .

Woo tons of Husky talk up in here along with some misquoting of inControL. Looking forward to State of the Thread this week.

Let me just start with, I like husky a lot, after i found a random replay of day9 casting and fell in love with sc2 i found him and watched probably all his videos before finding day9 once more through his dailies and sc2noobschool(on Youtube).
Not to interrupt all the husky love but, am I the only one that heard them all including --->iNcontrol<--- many times say that husky was great for the community as a whole? They kept repeating that they just wish he knew more of the game in depth, things only someone in masters would understand. I never got the impression they were mocking him in the slightest or even being cruel. They were just being critical and imo supportive from a gamer's perspective not an audience member. Maybe I misunderstood their message but i didn't see any malice in their words.
I even remember Geoff saying "now people are gonna say i hate husky" or something along those lines. You guys are such trolls lol.
