How is this comment any better then the English reaction. Actually it's a lot worse sense you had time to think about it. And what is the problem, find it funny my self with people crying over a football match (and laugh about it myself so now hate me) , and what if you don't take a child reaction serious. It's not an immortal sin, but people that make it one and take it up to this level are the real problem. Get your act together and talk about serious problem.

Again there are 60 million English people living in the country and were <40,000 inside the stadium and a few 100 or even thousand "social media posts" that does not generalize the whole core group of people. I am not defending these posts because they are nothing like what the rest are but to mass generalize a population is quite funny.

Honestly there’s a way to caption that picture and make it funny, I’d laugh. Jovial national banter is what makes tournaments fun and elevates them (for me) from the regular season.
‘Cry more slut’ though I mean… come on. The internet doesn’t have to be a forum for human detritus and a total cesspit, TL being a case in point.

Sorry just had it muted. Just thought people laughing. But calling people oxogyn theifs is not a bit better. And still think is worse if you had time to consider it and not drunk. Actually wishing them dead.
Edit: to be honest i find it hypocritical that so many comdem personer saying something wrong, but going over the top and being worse is accepted. It's ridiculous kind of moral just being main stream without any substance.

Typical english fans... They prolly have only football in their life, in a country without a decent social welfare, the foot is like the games during the roman empire, a good way to divert their frustration.

Of course I am, that's what sport is to begin with, the phenomen is pretty obvious in England, it makes people pretty ugly, add to this a bit of stupid chauvinism and you got something violent but really entertaining and diverting. You're a big english football fan so you don't want to see it that's all but the "banters" between football fans really show it is way more than just a "game" but a way to redirect ppl agressivity.

That's just football fans man. If it had been a boy he would've been a fucking wanker, a faggot or a crybaby. Does it really matter? Gender has nothing to do with this. This is just how football fans treat each other. The word slut in this context also means nothing other than being a bad name. You can make it a big deal out of it, but to me this is just typical football fan behavior, it's definitely not gender related and yea, it definitely is toxic. That's the way they want it to be though. That's how to keep fandom alive and kicking (and no, I'm not saying this is a good thing).

Football is just an outlet for a particular brand of English nationalism, and not exactly a singular one. That that output basically mirrors the tone of much of our tabloid press is not particularly surprising.
In the crudest sense possible which part of the U.K. has fans that boo anthems and love singing about various wars in European games and which part of the U.K. wanted to untether themselves from the European project?
Contrast that with the tone of the London Olympics, which despite being in London was very much pushed as a British affair, or the football supporters of the rest of the U.K (generally).
There are of course great football fans the world over, I’ve gone for drinks with Guardian football writers who bemoan the exact stuff we’re bemoaning here.

I think that was a clear red card. Swedish pundits agreed. Prolly the only ones that don't are people who grew up watching or playing English football back when Vinnie Jones was a thing.
I also agree with mahrgell on England. They might not have been dazzling, but they've been convincing. While there are many teams I support to varying degrees, England is the one I support the most this EC, and I'm totally pleased with their performance so far. Sure - I'd like to see more flashy players than Rice and Phillips, but they seem really balanced. Not just the old players tho, on Dutch TV vd Vaart (who I don't consider an old player as he didn't retire that long ago) was arguing about it not being a red card either. He feels the player went 100% for the ball and didn't even see the other guy, so there was no intent. Personally I thought it was a red card. When you go for a ball like that you do risk injuring another player and not in some freak accident kinda way, but just because of what we've seen happen. Other than that, I support Italy, despite their bad showing in the 1/8 finals, I hope they manage to find their good form and play some good football. Not a big fan of the English team in general, just not very many likeable players in my opinion. I think they have a good shot at the final victory though. This just show how bad a professional Vd Vaart was. Especially in the end of his karriere. Not knowing rules aa professional and even worse TV expert is disgraceful. Well they already had the opinion of a pro ref before vd Vaart began talking (iirc), who said it was a red card. He was just arguing that he felt it shouldn't be. So it's not so much about not knowing the rules, he just felt that foul shouldn't be a red card because there was no intent to hurt the player and he was just going for the ball. From what I read on another forum, in Belgium the commentators also were not 100% agreeing on whether it should or shouldn't have been red (haven't seen that, but I assume it's probably similar to vd Vaart's reasoning). Anyway, I guess the opinions in TV land are not 100% one-sided on this. Personally I felt it was pretty damn clear though. Intent should be irrelevant. Recklessness is enough to constitute dangerous play. Obviously every player 'intends' to get the ball when making a tackle. Let's just say I have the ball at my feet. There's no way I can completely shield the ball from all angles. The opponent slides in two-footed from behind at a small space between my legs. As he tackles through, my leg moves and catches the tackle*. He breaks my leg. Clearly a foul, yes? But what if my leg didn't move. His feet reaches the ball first, and his momentum hits me to the ground. My leg is fine this time. No real harm done. But still should be a foul, yes? A play is dangerous by the very act itself, not the intent nor even result. So long as an act is highly likely to cause serious harm, it's a foul. The tackler getting the ball first in such situation is irrelevant (nor even a mitigating factor, in my view). * It's ridiculous that in justifying such a tackle, some people go as far as effectively saying that the player in possession moving the leg is to be blamed and absolve the attacker from blame. By that logic, every time I have the ball at my feet and the opposing player makes a tackle aimed at the ball (even if my body is in the way), I should just jump away and let him get the ball. Many players actually intent to foul the player. It's a normal tactic - kick him, jump with elbows. It will make his life miserable. The same won't happen in hockey, as some of the "less" hockey player will kick these players asses Unfortunately football doesn't allow this, it's up to the referee to protect the players from this shit. Thankfully it's not that much of a tactic nowadays.
Edit> While saying that I don't think they plan to harm the player in any way. THey just want to stop the game or make the players life miserable, but not cause any injury.

Now that there's no Euros for a couple of days, I've been catching up on transfer news and this would be amazing if we could get him, although I worry Juve will beat us

I think Locatelli for Arsenal would be a better signing than Sancho for United to be honest. Fills a really needed hole and isn’t going to be massively expensive, would be excited to see him in the Prem.
Sancho is a fantastic player, no arguments there. Depends on how Greenwood develops too but it strikes me he’s a slight upgrade on the flanks where United have pretty good players.
Again, United’s transfer strategy hasn’t made much sense to me for half a decade so there is that. They seem to always end up one or two top players in certain positions away from having a title challenging calibre of side and then reinforce in the areas they’re already good in.

Safe to assume that an announcement of a new deal will be done this week.

I have to wonder how many hundreds of millions of euros it's going to be for him

I like Arsenal moving for Locatelli but until they sign him, I will presume he ends up in Juve. Most Italian players want to stay in Italy. Sancho is big upgrade for Man U, everybody can use goals and assist he brings. Think this will be the end of Martial stay at United.

So who starts for United now? What formation do they use? You can't fit Cavani, Sancho, Greenwood, Rashford, Martial, James, Fernandes in the same team. Where does Pogba fit?
If you assume Sancho will start, if you use the 4-2-3-1 that United did all last season then it's Rashford / Cavani / Sancho / Fernandes or Pogba / Rashford / Sancho / Fernandes or Pogba / Cavani / Sancho / Fernandes. One of Rashford, Cavani or Pogba has to miss out.
If you switch to a 4-3-3 then you can fit most of them in but then you can't play the Fred/McTominay double pivot so lose solidity and Bruno Fernandes has to play out of position. Rashford / Cavani / Sancho Pogba / Fernandes / McTominay? Shaw / Maguire / Lindelof / Wan Bissaka
4-1-2-3? Rashford / Cavani / Sancho Pogba / Fernandes McTominay? Shaw / Maguire / Lindelof / Wan Bissaka
