PSG is a high, high quality team and Leverkusen not only has an incredibly solid history of choking in the Champions League, but they have also collapsed over the past several weeks and have looked extremely disappointing at the start of the Ruckrunde. They lost to F.C. Kaiserslautern in the DFB Pokal for God's sake. I genuinely believe that Schalke has more of a shot at beating Madrid than Leverkusen had of winning this. Yea its also the denial that PSG just might happen to be a really good team, because that would mean admitting that money makes great teams.

I am very interested in watching Pep's Bayern tomorrow because I have a lot to catch up on in the football world at the moment. I hear they are terrifying in every aspect - like a transcended and more hungry version of his Barcelona team.

I think you can´t really blame the ref on that. It is a lot different at full speed and you needed multiple slow motions form like five angles to judge it. Its more that it is stupid a stupid rule with a red card AND a penalty. On fouls that aren´t brutal it should be a yellow.

Come on, even from your picture one can tell that it was a very close decision and a clear red card. Demichelis himself couldn't be sure that he would catch Messi outside of the box the way he was sliding in. Although I believe they can not beat barca this way, well noone can, if they happen to meet barca they should play exactly like last season.

If he plays all the Premier League with 2 fowards and a midfield with 2 centralplayers + 2 offensive mid side players, why in the world you decide to play with 1 striker, and place Kolarov instead of a offensive midfielder, all while playing at home. WHY? Mourinho did something similar (changing his regular team just for one game vs barca with pure defensive midfield) in his first season as Madrid coach and ended up 5-0 for barca (ofc, was a much stronger barca). Btw, I like a lot Pellegrini work so far as Man City manager, but today he fucked it up. He should have played more proactive, taking the initiative, like the Ajax victory vs barca, or the Bayern series in the last UCL. Barca played very confortable and they did his tier 1 game. See told you ^_^ I said City would defend and play differently vs Barcelona and they did. They changed formation, sat back for first 20minutes of the game with hardly a touch. Finally came out but then soon as the 2nd half started they looked tired from running around. However they weren't even defending properly vs Barcelona. You have to hustle them in packs, you have to close down the space whilst being rigid in your formation. City were just chasing shadows ON THEIR OWN for that game. Obviously we cannot be sure they would of lost if they didn't go down to 10men, but they did go down to 10men for a reason. Demichelis is old and slow and made the worst decision to slide in on Messi the way he did. Should be good fun 2nd leg though as now Pellegrini will get digs at him from Mourinho and maybe he will go with Aguero and Negredo up front in the away leg. Play Silva LM and Nasri RM and go. LETS DO THIS XD On February 19 2014 16:46 zeo wrote: Didn't watch the match, but it looks like buisness as usual: + Show Spoiler + ![]() Seriously what is it with Scandinavian referee's and Barcelona? Wouldn't of changed much though. Would of just been 0-0 and City down to 10 men. Was always a red card challenge even if Penalty or not. You can't dive in as last man, thats David Luiz shit xD

Nobody said Paris would win with this margin. They weren't playing great recently and they don't have enough references in Europe to be considered a ultra favourite in these kinds of games. Yes. Losing is expected, PSG is just the better team. But Leverkusen just rolls over again and again against better teams. Losing is fine, embarassing yourself is not. From a psychological/sociological standpoint this is really interesting though. Because it doesn't matter who the players are or who the coach/manager is. That behaviour of just giving up is basically ingrained in Leverkusens culture by now. I mean, Sami Hyypiä is the definition of a winner and Rudi Völler is a World Champion. On another note, Zlatan is just too damn impressive.

Yeah, it was a tough call, but you can't pin this one on Barcelona again. One thing that can be noted, however, is that Barcelona's players are very intelligent in drawing fouls and making the right fouls in general. That's legitimately part of the game and it is extremely important in competitions like the UCL and WC. Too much has been said about Barcelona and questionable refereeing calls in the last few years, especially since I've been witness to most of those games and I'd say that they've suffered more unfavourable calls than good calls in big matches overall. Mourinho is such a wizard that he spouts bullshit everyday and nobody remembers to call him out on it a week later because he's made another set of ridiculous comments already by then.

First of, in your picture, the contact is not there yet. He's sliding in before Messi enters the box, but he clips him right on the edge. It's VERY close and it could've been either a penalty or a freekick when judged at the spot. I don't think without a clear picture of where he actually clipped him you just don't know. The one clear decision that was wrong was the disallowed goal by Pique and I don't hear you complaining about that. Other than that, the referee did fine because he simply did not have an influence on the outcome of the match at all. He was unnoticable, which means he did great. That picture is obviously made by a Barça hater like you. It's a picture where the contact wasn't yet made. I get questioning questionable calls, but this is just pure hating, and it's making you look pretty fucking stupid (and it's getting pretty old).
