If you actually watch the report It didnt say that was supposed to stop it, just that it ripped through it after they missed. Im sure there was a mound of dirt or something behind the trashcans.

Why americans sue everyone whenver they can It was an accident, no one was hurt, they apologies, you get to know them =) They pay for everything and there.... happy face everyone

Maybe people will now come to their senses and stop cannon rushing, it's too dangerous!
In all seriousness, that's some cannonball. Needs a lot of force to get through all that stuff.

lol.. concrete is suppose to stop a 100+ lb bullet? who came up with that logic?

It's not just Americans.

I cannon derstand that sooner or later an accident like this would happen. you deserve a medal or something XD
Stuff like this has happened before...they are banned from some other town, and they've been evicted from a couple of their workshops. Don't think anything has been as serious as an AWOL cannonball though.

I think it was a failed cannon rush...

It was probably fun for the cops to piece together what the ball did.

Sounds like they used way too much blackpowder or american houses are made out of paper.
Yep american houses are made out of paper and wood lol

Mythbusters seem careful, how could this happen?

I still dont completely understand why this is the case. Why dont they just use bricks ? It's way stronger, less maintenance. Is it just cause it's cheaper and faster to build ?

I dont think its a good idea to sue them They can shoot freaking cannons ball at your house dude !!

People need to keep in mind that this was NOT Adam and Jamie but, the three stooges(Kari, Grant, and Tory).

Well when you do mass experiments, it's bound to happen one time or another. I'm sure it happens more times but definitely not this bad.
It's quite a problem though and i hope it won't lead to cancelling their show. Hopefully they'll just be restricted to more safe areas (further from residential area) or smth like that.

Does this kind of complete stupidityand generalization not annoy anyone else? Lets just randomly insult every American because every derp-tard knows, everything America does is complete trash. What makes it better is that it's someone from Mexico and Portugal(clearly 0.5th world countries) confirming that yes, indeed, America sucks at buildings too.
To answer your question, yes, every single American home is made out of paper mache and cardboard. If you're lucky you might get some wood fragments glued together in your wall, and the 1% actually use the occasional nail and screw throughout the house. Sometimes birds and other things come crashing through several walls, so I have to go buy some printer paper and use some chewing gum to stick it back up over the hole. When a breeze over 20 mph comes, I have to evacuate and go to my back yard bomb shelter I have in case of nuclear war with Iran. I just hope my V16 4x4 Ford Truck doesn't get scratched by any flying debris, I can barely afford the gas since it uses about 3 gallons per mile, so I won't be able to repaint it if it does. GO MERCA!! USA!! USA!!!
Fortunately I live in a brick home, so I must be, like, one of the richest people in the US? I think I'm the president sometimes.
Back to the subject at hand, how does this happen if you have any kind of real safety controls at all? I know Mythbusters usually goes out of their way(seemingly) to make sure everything is safe, so i wonder what they overlooked with something so ridiculous as shooting stuff out of a cannon. I would think that would be a MAJOR undertaking as far as keeping everything safe, not just pointing it at a few garbage cans and a concrete wall and hoping for the best.

Mythbusters is more than 2 people.

Now to wait for somebody to be impaled by silverware 10 miles away being shot by the same cannon.

I can't stop laughing over the images invoked in this paragraph, rofl.

Apparently it was an unlucky bounce, there is a huge dirt mound behind the concrete wall, the cannon ball hit it, bounced over, and flew into the neighborhood. 1/2 mile away.

To those who complain about the fact is went thought the house. You realise that when cannons were first used they build walls half a meter thick just to make sure it didnt go right through?
No single modern building will "resist" an old fasion cannonball
