http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=20271714 He apparently, got that naga for free- so he actually made money from the insurance payout. According to him, he came out ahead. And didn't want that naga anyway. So I came back a short period later: http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=20273088 He rage logged after this one, apparently this naga was in fact not free.

This is from quite literally 30 seconds of reading some documentation. LoadLibrary loads and gives full access to the inner workings of the .dll which is... useless and inefficient at best and very dangerous at worst. On the flip side, GetModuleX functions try to peer into currently-loaded libraries and gives an accounting of the functions available and access to those functions. LoadLibrary could potentially open an unopened library which is a severe abuse of user-given rights considering CCP is looking for a library they didn't write and possibly opening it in its entirety. GetModuleX, though, is designed to investigate libraries already loaded. From the corrected code:
This checks either if there is such a library loaded or if there are functions loaded on this particular library (I'd have to read deeper into documentation to see which). Obviously if the suspect library is loaded or if there are more than 0 functions from that library available, that is the condition you're looking for in order to possibly ban someone for using that particular automation library. This is what happens when you employ huge egos with nothing behind them like Darius Johnson. /edit - + Show Spoiler [A Simpler Perspective] + Instead of emailing CCP about the mistake, this guy could have distributed a library to take advantage of the mistake. Ever get those alerts from various anti-virus-type programs like "YYY is trying to run blahblah.exe, Allow?" Are you more likely to allow some supposed bot you downloaded off the internet wilds or more likely to allow EVE to run something? People that knew about this vulnerability could have distributed something extremely malicious that CCP would run for them. Unless you had a really sophisticated anti-virus-type program, you probably wouldn't even get a warning message. You have to give EVE certain powerful rights just so it can run normally on your computer.

Remember to use the term "Firesale" at least twice in the title, and make sure that it must be sold now. Doesn't have to be true, just sound good.

I don't think that "abuse of user-given rights" is the issue with calling LoadLibrary on a 3rd party library that might or might not be there, because applications do this all the time for legitimate reasons, and CCP's terms of service probably cover them in full for any anti-hack technology they wish to deploy. As you pointed out between spoiler tags, the big problem with it is that it opens up a wide-open hole for attacks on the EVE client that do not require administrative access to install. Making such attacks easy enough could risk the style of mass malware-driven account theft that Blizzard has struggled with for years in WoW. Edit: I noticed in the Reddit comments on this matter that Sreegs dusted off his Reddit account to assert that this exchange had nothing to do with his leaving the company. It's possible he was lying but more likely he wasn't.
