Yah I tried. It's not working. I feel like something funky's going on with my console commands.

Okay the easiest way to do it is to go to "Play offline with bots", select deathmatch(!), select your map, then do "mp_roundtime 30" for example and "mp_restartgame 1". This works on my end. It does not work (without a bunch of additional commands) in casual or competitive for some reason.

For smoke testing, you can follow the above up with "bot_kick; sv_cheats 1; sv_infinite_ammo 2; sv_grenade_trajectory 1; give weapon_smokegrenade; give weapon_flashbang; give weapon_hegrenade" for example. That's what I use (I have it bound to a key).

You mean 60 mins isn't enough or am I misunderstanding you? You can get 1 hour rounds with my method, I just tested it.

mp_roundtime_defuse 60

Works for casual/competitive mode when playing offline with bots.

Here's the console commands I use whenever I want to test something myself.

bind "KP_END" "bot_kick; sv_cheats 1; mp_freezetime 0; mp_startmoney 16000; sv_grenade_trajectory 1; sv_showimpacts 1; sv_infinite_ammo 2; mp_buy_anywhere 1; mp_buytime 1000; mp_restartgame 1; mp_autoteambalance 0; mp_roundtime_defuse 60; mp_warmup_end"

It's bound on the "1" key on my numberpad. So I just press that and everything is loaded. I'd put more commands, but apparently there's a text limit to binds.

I appreciate the reply, but would love to see more input/feedback on my theory of m4a1-s

I think your explanation was pretty much on point already.

Don't really need a custom aim map for it? Just practice in your own offline server?

There's always this aim training map too.

Very well then. Looks like i have to put my effort into this. I wanted to avoid getting into gold rank again, and just fix a major flaw...
shit shit shit >.<

Thank you, Nagisama.

Edit:

Sparying distance was the actuall problem. And the first video helped to indentify it! Nice.
Much thanks again

Do top teams usually have specific nade throwers that are more likely to throw loads of cool set smokes and flashes and all that?

For example if I want to figure out cool smokes from NiP, is there some player who I should spec first? What about other teams?

In general, have you discovered any players who are particularly entertaining or educating to spectate during tournaments?

AFAIK there aren't really any dedicated nade throwers like there are gun roles (awper, caller, entry-fragger, lurk etc.), every player should know and practice all useful nades that the team uses. Most site takes use multiple smokes for example, so specing just one guy isn't going to be helpful. Watch out for these maneuvers in demos, then use the demoui to slow down time/rewind and check out how they did it.

As for you second question, I dunno, maybe flusha? #edgy

You can just put all commands you want to use for practise in a .cfg file in your cfg folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo\cfg

Then just type "map <mapname you want to play on>" in console to create an offline server then when you're on the map open console again and type "exec <filename>.cfg".

Here's a useful short guide with a good config-file for offline practise

I assume you can then bind "exec <filename>.cfg" to a key ("1" in your case), haven't tried that tho.

Edit: adreN has a video explaining how he does offline practise as well with placing bots too:

Valve hides it. But it's safe to assume a standard bell curve/normal distribution. Majority novas, fewer as you head towards silver 1/global elite.
