this thread is fine
err i thought we were in the general thread
It's pretty dead here... Want to discuss ESL events that happen on the weekdays and stuff. What forum do people use? HLTV? Reddit?
If you're talking about the ESL proleague, we have a thread for that. If what you want to talk about does not have a thread, start one if you think it deserves one.
I got a M4A1-S | Icarus Fell minimal ware as a drop and am trying to sell it, probably even for real money. I know there is some randomness to the pattern of some skins which can make them more valuable for people that are retarded sophisticated enough. Is there actual some sort of catalogue/checklist/guide out there so a noob that never had anything to do with skin trading besides selling almost everything immediately on the steam marketplace can make sense of this? Or are those supposedly rare patterns only a thing on knifes? Is there some common understanding to the value of a pattern (like just checking for certain values besides the quality ofc) or is this simply taste based?
According to CSGO stash page for the Icarus Fell, the pattern for it is pretty irrelevant so I wouldn't really care about it. Then for patterns, I would check for every weapon if there's an actual noticeable difference in the same wear category, but yeah, feels pretty useless unless it's an expensive knife.
Last night while i was watching a stream my graphics card (Desktop pc) died. This morning i formated my Laptop and installed a clean Windows 10 Version. Because i knew it was full of garbage and games ran way below their potential performance. Of course, the first game i installed was cs. It works great. I`ve constantly 60 fps. The Problem i face now is that my mouse doesn`t work the way i`m used to. It feels like it has some Kind of mini delay. It makes aiming.. interesting.
Windows mouse Speed is 6/11 hz rate is 1000 dpi 450 raw Input 1 mouse acce. 0 (Windows too)
Literally, everthing like it ever was on both my Systems. Somewhere on the webz i`ve read it sometimes has somthing to do with Monitor Ratio (16:10, 4:3 etc.) but i`ve tried almost all resolutions with every Ratio. It doesn`t help in my case.
Dunno, maybe some of you guys expierenced something like this and give advice. (sorry for random capital letters )
Mouse is wired and i forgot to mention that vsync is off, sorry for that. I remember the time when direct 3D and open gl were chooseable in games. Direct 3D often showed the same issues i Encounter now. I guess i'll give the 'optimize' Feature from the geforce experience a Chance, despite Frames are fine. Still trial by error. :|
Yes i did. One of the very first things i do when cs has to be recovered for whatever reason. I'm out of ideas right now. Last thing i've done was setting mouse acceleration to 0 in the Windows registry without success. In other games (read starcraft) there's no issue.
Meh and QQ I could go back to win8.1 but, uhm, I'm not in the mood. Or i just go play mm and lose ranks ;D
Edit: Alright. Windows Fullscreen is - for whatever reason - a working short term solution!

What I find useful is to focus when getting to a situation where you actually do spray. You can practice your recoil 24/7 but you will never be able to hit a good spraydown if you do not remember to be calm and actually do the pattern when you are being rushed etc.
When you get into the situation of meeting an opponent remember to use the pattern. 'I despise deathmatch, but if you want to improve that would be an example. Usually its for aiming and you should / can tap in a deathmatch server, but if you want spray you can try to get spraydowns there - lots of engagements, get used to it.
I was told to never hold shift and shoot because an awper can easily shoot you. And its better to move shoot, and move. But I was also told to never move while shooting. Which one would be more effective?

It's not move shoot. It's move, stop, shoot, move again, rinse repeat. If you hold shift, you move around a corner at a much slower pace, your body will show before your camera turns the corner, so the enemy can see you before you see them.

Never use shift-move while shooting, only ever use shift for stealth (Which in turn also means that you need to know where you suspect the enemy is and stop the shift move before turning the corner so he won't have three times as long to shoot at you than you have to shoot back).
Usually you'll stay completely still while spraying. If you're at a distance where you're tapping, you should strafe between each shot (this is a complicated skill that requires you to quickly tap in the opposite direction before firing a shot to make it accurate. Needs a lot of practice. The video above explains it nicely).
Weapons that are fine to run and gun with are certain pistols, smgs, and shotguns at close range. Reason being that accuracy isn't a huge issue at very close range, and if you're running around it makes it a lot harder for the enemy to track you.
I keep getting vac authentication errors mid game, the only thing i can think of causing this is having Visual Basic running in the Background, however I've restarted my computer and it still won't let me rejoin. I have no clue how to fix this, any ideas?
