Portugal is the Emperor btw. Also Crimea and Kazan are Sunni, no idea who pulled them into the war. Both sides start with roughly 400k troops. In this game I formed Italy with Tuscany That's cool; I mean, the real war ended up as Catholic France and various small Prot states versus Catholic Austria/Empire/Spain. The rivalry is real. | ||

Westphalia will free reform a horde. Crimea -> Westphalia -> Westernize -> Culture shift -> form Poland = Westernized Polish ideas with never-upgrading nomad cavalry. Sounds terrible but amazing at the same time. I have to try this. Alternatively I could form Netherlands but that's a little bit more difficult... | ||

I was a rather big Russia though, no idea if the size of your country or the amount of orthodox provinces you own effects how often those events come up? | ||

They are supposed to fire every 3 years, but have been bugged for quite some time now. Wiz said it was fixed with 1.13, but I haven't played any orthodox yet. | ||

The basic rules are: Provinces without a fort get captured within 1month, sieging a fort requires 3 times the maximum garrison size, provinces around a fort are affected by zone of control. Zone of control means you can't move from one affected province to another without sieging down the fort first. | ||

Quick, precise and informative. Not all provinces have a fort now. Provinces that do will gain a Zone of Control. All provinces next to the province with an actual fort will be in that zone. Once you move into a zone of control, you can only move out or towards the fort. Forts will recapture their zone of control automatically. If you siege a fort or capture the fort, they won't do this. Basically, you capture the forts, then the surrounding provinces. | ||
