So yeah, you're probably going to need to claim it if you want priority on inheriting.

Presumably, Great Britain has claimed the throne bumping up their priority despite having lower development. So yeah, you're probably going to need to claim it if you want priority on inheriting. Great Britain claiming the throne when they're rivals and thus have no royal marriage...? I played further anyways and had to win the succession war and fight the entire HRE in a coalition afterwards but meh it was worth it I guess. The succession priority in this case made literally 0 sense.

There's loads of anti-blobbing, which could make make sustaining your empire more of a challenge and less of a "optimize the order in which you run over minor empires to achieve your WC 10 years earlier". I prefer the risk of failure over playing time attack.

I prefer the risk of failure over playing time attack. The changes didn't really make WC harder at all though. Now you just go humanist every single game, move your capital to Europe if it wasn't already, take all TC regions and then buy down your +.8 corruption with your infinite money while you run everyone else over. Really all the patch did was railroad campaigns even more into the same routine and make the Mughals insanely OP.

Because the game lacks any feeling of threat after you reach a certain size and I find playing time attack fairly boring. Like sure there's a lot to optimize, but once you reach 800 dev there's basically no way you loose the game and once you hit like 1.2-1.5k there's no way you even loose a war. Rebellions are laughable. In reality Empires like the Brits and French weren't just threatened by other superpowers, some of their biggest losses came from rebellions. And there isn't/wasn't a lot of playstyles after you reach a certain size, you just gobble things up at other ends of your empire to keep AA low and start with the smallest enemies. Yes there's a lot of optimization possible, but fundamentally you play the same way.

Don't think it has been this cheap to pick up the DLC before. Not sure how good the game is now a days since I stopped playing a few years ago but was fun for ~500 hours at least.

There's new DLC and we are launching a new multiplayer campaign with 500$ prizepool. We are ex bw/sc2 players so we figured some e-sport in EU4 would be pretty interesting. We already have 37 signups for the campaign, but a couple more would be great. We play on thursdays 20:30 CET till midnight (starting 16th november). There's some good players but also some newer players so if you don't have too much multiplayer experience, dont worry just ask and we will help you.
