Different question: Panthers are 2 points behind Boston (hell yes!). Who thinks my comeback cats will be able to overtake Boston for 2nd? I really think it should be possible. Boston has a much more difficult schedule for these last 7-8 games.

Unless that plan is to offer a boatload of money for the Nashville D corps and hope that some team will take Franzen off their hands for the cap space. Which is too bad because considering the way their last year ended, especially after the Canucks exposed the Sharks so thoroughly, you'd think they would have wanted a serious run at the Cup this year. Oh well. At least the legend of Ken Holland as great hockey mastermind will take a serious beating unless there is some miracle Cup run [there will not be one.] Detroit have been monsters at home this year, are still sitting comfortably in a spot and have a shot at overtaking the blues who lost Andy MacDonald the other day, and this is after missing Jimmy Howard for a decent chunk of time. All of this while in the best division that isn't the Atlantic. They've still got one of the better goal differentials without their star goalie. How on earth can you be disappointed with their play this season? Even going forward, yeah, it's kind of really hard to swiftly replace a franchise defenseman and surefire first ballot HOFer. His well deserved reputation isn't gonna take any kind of beating On March 21 2012 22:54 Stratos_speAr wrote: Wild. No contest. Different question: Panthers are 2 points behind Boston (hell yes!). I think they're on different levels those two, but the Bruins are simply in a slump, while the Panthers are playing pretty well. Still, all this does for me is highlight just how stupid the seeding system is with respect to division winners. At the very least, that should give a team an autobirth in the playoffs, not a top 3 seeding when there's four teams that are statistically ahead.

The Wings are 4 wins back of the Preds, and its hard to imagine that a team depending on Joe Macdonald for goal keeping and without Lidstrom will tear it up while the Blues suddenly start sucking because their 2nd line center - who has been out for a period this season already - is injured. If the Washington Capitals can put 4 goals past you then anyone can. The expectations are always there for playoffs. Not giving Lidstrom a chance to retiree as a Stanley Cup winner is just a shame.

ROFLMAO.... Burke is doomed! the scalpers were bleeding bad out on Bay Street.. i'm not sure what it was like on the other sides of the ACC but it was probably just as bad! On March 21 2012 14:00 StarStruck wrote: It's true that Burke took over when the core was fundamentally in place. Sure, he got the bro's to stay on and bring Pronger onboard. Anyway, Burke has made some good moves. I think people place way too much emphasis on the Kessel deal (ofc they overpaid), but if we look at the more recent moves with Calgary and Anahiem. Not all is lost. moves like Scott Neidermeyer for Tom Kurvers make Leaf fans remember 1st round picks being traded away. Randy Carlyle a promising young leaf defenseman is jettisoned and he promptly wins the Norris trophy. if burke trades away anotehr first rounder he has got to be fired. seguin is already better than kessel. never mind the 2 other players boston got in the trade.

In the east Boston(2nd) and Florida(3rd) should be 5 and 6 repectivly and Dallas(3rd in the west) should be 6th This happens year in and year out. It annoys me too, but more often than not the weak division leader (Dallas this year) gets knocked out in the first round anyway.

And yah, if the teacher's were ok with JFJ show for as long as that lasted why would they fire Burke? Until Leafs fans stop paying those ridiculous prices and stop tuning into games Burke is safe for another 2-3 years.
