Frankly, they both should be sitting for a couple.
Shoulder to head, but at least Keith played the puck. Daniel didn't even touch the puck when Keith threw the elbow. Not to mention the hit Keith threw was premeditated.
A) Daniels check was mid shoulder, totally incomparable to this. There was no intent to injure, it was simply the completion of a check. If you played hockey you would know. B) When you lift the butt end of your stick and elbow to a guys face while skating towards him and the puck is nowhere to be seen, it's a clear intent to injure and totally malicious.
Daniel's check was blindside, shoulder to head after the puck had been released. Not saying Kieth's was not worse, but you can't act like Daniel's hit was fine. I'm a fan of niether team by the way.
Keith said after the game he didn’t know if Sedin landed a hard, high check on him prior to his elbow.
“No. I don’t think so,” Keith said. “I think on that play – and I haven’t seen the replay so it’s tough for me to comment too much on it – but I’m not trying to hurt anybody. I hope he’s OK. He’s one of their best players so he needs to be on the ice.
“The puck was up in the air from what I remember and I’m trying to close my gap and have a good gap on him. Right at the last second, he moves forward. I don’t know where the puck is. It’s fast. Like I said, I hope he’s OK. I need to see the replay. I need to see it again.”
Penguins delivering a message through 30 minutes. 4-0 against Nashville.
Nashville is getting some chances, though. Just not capitalizing. Radulov hasn't done shit. LOL - He scored literally 5 seconds after I posted that. Serves me right. I won't delete it because I am a man.
Can only hope that the Penguins can keep this going. After the way they've been playing lately, anything short of the finals would be an absolute disappointment.

Missing Rafalski obviously hurts a lot too. But please do share how this terrible gm is a failure for not having an immediate replacement for arguably the best defender of this generation, and his power play parter who was among the best in the business in that department. You lose your two point men on the PP, you lose a lot of your juice. It's kind of simple
Yes. It was impossible to foresee that Lidstrom and Rafalski were getting older. I get it. Signing Erickson for a NTC, lots of money deal was obviously totally rational in this situation.

I wouldn't say that man. There are a few really good clubs in the hunt when it comes to the Eastern Conference.

Outside of the Rangers and the Flyers, does anyone else really have a shot? The Devils don't score enough, Ottawa just isn't deep enough.
Obviously everything changes once the playoffs start, but really, I just don't see it happening for anyone else right now. Letang is probably the Norris Trophy winner if he stays healthy all year, Malkin is running away with points total and MVP in the final week. Crosby came back and is barely missing a step + has the highest points per game since his return. Dupuis and Cooke both have career highs in goals, Staal is close to his career high.
Everything is just coming together for them right now. Outside of that heart breaker against the Flyers this past Sunday, they've just absolutely dog stomped everyone they've played recently. Nashville had a ton of good chances last night, but just couldn't capitalize.
I'm obviously a little bit biased here, but it's hard to deny the sick performance these guys have been putting on here recently.

How the bloody hell did you avoid saying Boston? I know in this day and age it's hard to think a team will actually win back-to-back Stanley Cups and even though they're playing 50/50 hockey right now. These guys will bruise you.

They are more than capable.
Utterly forgot about them, honestly. They've been below the radar a bit lately. But yeah, if they can return to early season form, they can certainly compete. They looked unbeatable there for the first third of the season.
Guess I should include Florida, too, though I'm not personally sold on them. I hope they do well, though. Would be nice to see them get back and make a serious run this year.
Caps and Jets tonight is a big one. Sabres and Rangers too.
The Caps have been a disaster this season, but I def would not want to face them in round 1. So go Jets!
i think Florida is first round fodder most likely. The B's, despite struggles, are definitely a team that can demolish everyone if they heat up again. Great D and goaltending, physical play with a few scorers goes a long way.

Florida won't get far in the playoffs i dont think, mainly because of goaltending. Clemmenson has a GAA of 2.75 and Theodore has a 2.40. That just doesn't cut it in the playoffs.
If Bryzgalov keeps hot through the playoffs i could see the Flyers coming out of the East even with potentially having to face the Penguins in the first round if the playoffs started today. That being said i like the Caps chances if they make the playoffs as a 7,8, or a 3 as they would be facing the Rangers, the Bruins, or the Devils, as i like all those matchups in a 7 game series, especially if they can get there first line center, Nicklas Backstrom, back as he has been cleared to skate but i don't think he is in full practice yet.
The West i have no clue about as the last time i paid attention the Blues were at 7 or 6 i think. I heard they were kicking ass at home but DAAAAMMMNNNNNNN, 29-4-4. Feel sorry for the 8th seed in the West as there is the distinct chance of going down 2-0 immediately.
Consistant with the Rene Bourque suspension. My only thought is that those hits aren't part of playing the game. They are to hit and cause injury to someone. I would like to see any hit that is a deliberate attempt to injure or is not part of play dealt with in a harsher manner. We don't need to have more players lose time like Crosby or Savard have.

Wait, no previous suspension and he still got a 5. I wonder what he would get if his other 2 elbows were caught and suspended lol
five is fine. Sedin should be sitting a game or two, and that ref should be getting his pay docked for allowing that shit to turn into the shitshow that it did after the non call on that

You must have watched enough playoffs to know that one hot goalie puts an end to even the best team. But imo the interesting thing will be how Crosby plays in the playoffs, if the refs put away their whistles and he plays the way he played pre-injury, i could see him having a career ending night in some corner.
I was just noticing that Florida is -18 in goals. I find it amazing that they're doing as well as they are despite that. I mean, Canadiens are -15 and last in the east... I don't give FLA any chance of making it very far... Pens are insane right now, what is it like 20-0-1 in their last 21 games or something like that? Even that guy raving about them higher up could not find enough room in his post to mention how good Fleury is (can't blame him either, after Malkin Crosby Letang Staal Neal and the great 3rd/4th liners + good defensive defensemen...). They are so imbalanced right now, if they stay in stride they will be very, very scary come playoff time.
it seems like just yesterday that Fleury was wearing mustard pads, sucking terribly and playing pucks that he shouldn't! he's definitely become a very good goalie.
And yeah, Florida is like that because the southeast is awful
