Similar stuff with witcher3... It has an AWESOME -10% on release, still costing >60 Euro on steam... Now you can buy it any regular store (real world stores) for 45 Euro... We've been over this before.
There's a big difference between official sellers and 3rd party resellers.

I got This War of Mine from yesterday's deals and am pretty happy with the game. Minor annoyances but overall a great experience.
Opinions on Transistor? I've never played Bastion.

i will wait for This War of mine, maybe for the next sale. Bastion is really good.

Bastion is great, Tansistor... not so much, i found it boring.
This War of Mine is godlike, but you have yo realize what you are doing and whats the situation (the war) for it to click you

Can't agree, Far Cry 3 was boring to tears after good few hours. But I managed to get 90% of upgrades during first two hours, and then had absolutely no reason to go anywhere. Money? Problem was how to spent anything, even when buying maps. No need for hunting. Repetitive missions didn't help either. And fuck that main hero, worst main character EVER. Wanted to kill him so badly. The fact that the rest of NPC were bad (except for you-know-who) or simply annoying didn't help. Gunplay was good and fun, but killing enemies can only work alone for a time. just my few words on that, carry on To each their own I guess. I love Farcry 3, I found most of the NPC characters fun to interact with, thought the story was good and the missions were extremely fun to play through. Probably has my favourite all time villian in video games The only characters I didn't actually like, ironically enough were the main guy you play and his friends. Did not like the idea of playing some spoiled rich kid twat, but he does grow considerably and you don't even think about it while gunning people down so meh. I still say great game def worth playing even at full price but this cheap is a steal imo.
Yeah, I'm in total opposite on this one. Missions were kinda lame, run of the mill stuff, NPC annoying or simply bad with one notable exception. Rich spoiler kid at the side, I totally didn't get how Jason (that's his name, right?) got so good with weapons without any training or time needed to get a grip on them. And later his "progression" also didn't make much sense. Stopped playing halfway thru or something, was too annoyed.
At last that tells me 100%, Ubisoft style of open world games are not for me.

Opinions on Transistor? I've never played Bastion. Bought transistor at full price, just because of how amazing Bastion was. Even though it wasn't as memorable as it's predecessor, it was definitely worth it.
Experimenting with different skill combinations is great fun, and I really enjoy the games music and overall aesthetic.

Opinions on Transistor? I've never played Bastion. Bastion is a great game. Regarding Transistor: I haven't finished the game yet, but I feel that the story is a bit lacking at times. Great music, voice acting and combat system, but lacking story. Overall I think it is a good game though

I'm interested in some economic simulation game. But they all seem pretty simple....
Id like to test TransOcean that soll with -30% atm. Guess itll be a bit cheaper if it comes to the actual sale?
|
I didn't mind the story in Transistor. Yeah, it's rather minimalist and leaves a lot open to interpretation, but it still works well. It's also a much more linear game than Bastion.
That said, almost everything else about it is great. I even bought it expecting that the combat system wouldn't be to my liking, but it ended up being the best part for me (and the art, voices, music and art style was still amazing).

I highly suggest picking up Mount&Blade: Warband (4€) on GOG! Great solo game. Multiplayer is nice too, although I haven't explored it as much.

Does anyone know how steam game trading works?
I purchased an extra copy of a game I already have as a gift (Mount Your Friends). If I send this to a friend, and they play it and don't like it, can they send it back to me so I can give it to another friend?
If not, do they have to directly gift that game to my other friend?
I'm assuming you can trade games after you've already played them, right?

The first friend consumes the copy of the game. If he doesn't like it then it would still be locked to his steam library. It is one use. Also note that you cannot trade games for thirty days after purchase so you must use the friend gift function.

So after 30 days, I'd be able to get the game back then? When you say locked to his steam library, do you mean only for those 30 days, and then it's "unlocked" and he can trade it back/gift back?

Think of this item as a one use product key. Once you use this key nobody else can claim it.
The trade lock is to prevent fraud because people buy steam games with stolen credit cards and then sell them to people. That is where most of those cheap keys you find on those websites come from if you weren't aware. After thirty days you'll be able to trade it through steam like any other item which allows you to resell it rather than gift it.
What you're trying to do may be possible through family sharing, but the logistics of pulling that off are probably too annoying to make it worthwhile.

you cant trade used games on steam, that would kill the whole market, no publisher would support that.

pretty sure that genre choked on the XX tycoon games and is dead, i havent seen a good game in a while, even games like skylines have pathetic economy difficulty and depth.

Ah, I see. Thanks for explaining lol. Damn, but oh well. Bought an extra copy now so I can share with other friend.

Well you can let your friend borrow -your- game (if you trust him with your acct) for X hours to see whether he likes it enough for a gift.
Much easier if your friend is local, then you can just enable family sharing temporarily.
|
Lol, well it's a multiplayer game that we were going to play together to see if he liked it first. Then if not he could have given it back to me for me to give to a different friend. That was the plan anyways.

do you think life is strange is going to be on sale?

You can get your friend to install TeamViewer on his PC and you can let him give you remote control of his PC for a while (to login your steam account on his PC) if he's not local. You can go around enabling family sharing that way.
