Boston will definitely be relevant next year, more so than the Knicks. edit: barring Chris Paul and Melo dont end up there xD
I have no idea what this is reacting to.
All I'm saying is it's presumptuous to say an aging team is a sure thing to win it all. Championships aren't NFL pro bowl selections, there's a lot that can go wrong, and those aren't freak accidents.

how about some love for the spurs?not the best plays in the league, but sure is effective. i can see them coming back to west finals.

Man the finish to that NY game was incredible. Tough loss, and there are a lot of details you could bring up for the Knicks that could have changed the game. However the Knicks made a lot of mistakes that they will have to learn from. I felt like they were more talented but simply a bit too inexperienced. It is fine though, they have to go through these things to become good. The most important things to become a good team are there-talent, good coaching and competitiveness.
I loved how Gallo was 0 points in the 1st half and 20 in the second. Boston made good adjustments to pressure Stoudemire and try to keep the ball out of his hands by committing more players to him (it was not too rare for there to be 4 guys swarming him if he was anywhere around the basket in the 2nd half). The Knicks did struggle to make good passes to him, but they took advantage by having Gallo put the ball on the floor. With Amar'e commanding so much attention there is no help defense available, so if any Knick got some space (Gallo) it was going to be a very high percentage shot. Then once Gallo got going again the Knicks were eventually able to find Amar'e a bit more.
NYKs are improving at a great pace so I have no doubt that although they do not seek any silver lining they will become a better team after this game. I hope they abuse Miami on Friday. Watching them destroy a great defensive team like that was amazing and very rare.
Best game of the season IMO.

They are definitely extremely good. I guess being pretty good for a decade hurts your the amount of love you get T_T I won't be surprised if they end up getting to the finals or winning the title.

don't forget rondo was abysmal last game and they played with no center. Neither davis nor erden are capable of defending amare and rebounding, KG had to do a lot of work by himself. That celtics team wasn't playing defensively at all, the match-ups were very unfavorable
ray and paul simply had to put some scores up. By the way paul had a bad game defensively as well
|
Rondo was not hurt the whole game unless he had something going into it that I am unaware of. When he twisted his ankle Robinson had one of his better games. It is true the frontcourt players out for Bos were a big deal, though Erden was only in for about 3 min more than his usual mpg...
Anyway, JVG when Erden was subbed out: "this was a 'no mas' get me out of here foul". JVG when Erden got back in: "Amar'e needs to tell D'Antoni to put him in whenever Erden is out there!". In any case the Cs outrebounded the Knicks just fine and it is questionable whether Perkins or Shaq (who has speed issues) would have mattered that game with the fast paced and potent offense of Amar'e and the Knicks.
I loved Big Baby trash talking Amar'e and getting owned multiple times ^_^ loool
The Knicks sure played Boston better than the Heat did! Plz crush the Heat on Friday! :o

Yao ming with a stress fracture and will be out indefinitely. I think he's pretty much done at the rate it's going. it's really a shame because yao is such a good guy.

amare is no more of a capable "center" than KG is, so it was a pretty good matchup. rondo coming back out and onto the court was a pretty epic moment. just a great game.
im all for seeing a revival of celtics-knicks rivarly. we def need some of that up in the east.

Rondo has been hurt for a while now. Before it was the hamstring and ankle that he tweaked vs OKC. Reports just came out that he's going to miss a few weeks.
Also with Shaq and especially Perkins in the game all those layups and blow bys the Knicks got would be stuffed. The 1st half the Knicks were actually doing pretty good on the boards where as in the second half Boston was doing better. With Shaq/Perk/maybe even JO the Knicks are in trouble since Amar'e is their #1 rebounding threat at that point.

peace out, yao. it was fun

The Rockets really need to cut their losses with Yao. He's too much of a liability now (unfortunately).

Who is better at 21? Kobe or Durant?

Brave call by the refs on the final play in Denver!
But the right one nonetheless.

sorry to talk fantasy here but I just have a question I've been considering for awhile. Someone offered me Darko for Taj Gibson, I'm leaning towards yes, would like a second opinion.

It heavily depends on what the league settings are. Noah will be out for 8 weeks and you probably saw how well Gibson did in the rebounding department early on. Darko is straight up blocks/rebounds/points but not like Gibson.
|
Standard 9 cat, weekly, h2h 12 team, I'm one of the better teams in rebs and middle of the pack in blocks. Right now Gibson sits on the bench for me and I've also got Humphries. Darko would replace either Batum or Richard Jefferson in my lineup. The biggest factor is that Darko will start all season and Gibson will only get a lot of playing time until January. Gibson has slightly better %s and can probably rebs a little better but Darko gets more blocks and every once in awhile he goes crazy.
|
Well if you're middle of the pack in blocks and that's you're only problem then swap Gibson for Darko straight up.
|
Anyone watching NY/Miami atm? Fun start. :O
|
Yeah good game so far.
Both teams hitting at a high %.
