How does hardcore work? When you die is all your stuff gone and you have to make a new character? I never got into HC, but why not offer normal gameplay but a restricted AH where you can only sell things for gold.
I wouldn't mind that, I don't want to lose all my stuff/characters, but I don't want people able to just buy stuff for real money and trivialize the game.

Do you guys realize that the trading of real items for money was already happening in Diablo 2?
Like 0,05% bought items in D2 for real money. But now its ingame and probably at least 50% will try it atleast.
D3 IS DEAD!

Honestly I rather have third world kids being able to "live" off of farming video games instead of their other alternatives which aren't many. Damn Blizzard taking the food right out of their mouths and the cloths off their backs.

Dropping a good item is mostly about luck and betting games are forbidden to 18- no?
Well maybe its ok since the player do not have to bet something but still , will be a challenge to every country laws on that subject imo pretty sure itll be rated mature, so you have to be 18+ to buy it anyways? maybe 17, i dont know what mature means exactly.

D3 IS DEAD
Explain what you mean

Torchlight devs are having a bit of fun with this stuff:

Gambling/betting means you would put up some investment of value (ie: money) and hope for a favorable outcome (ie: jackpot)
Drops in a game require no investment of value, you just hope for a favorable drop.

@RunicGames Runic Games #Torchlight2 will still support mods, LAN play, and will be a one time purchase.
Come on Torchlight 2!
User was warned for this post

I get the mods and LAN, but if you don't use the real money auction house the game still works the same way as Diablo 2 or probally Torchlight 2. Unless they are talking about expansion packs, Blizzard isn't really selling anything.

Disgusting move by Blizzard.
LOL!!!
You have to be joking right?
You're actually blaming blizzard for child labor now? Come on...

Well, seeing as they announced all this shit today, I wouldn't be surprised to hear about a subscription on D3 as well. There were rumors going about subscriptions even for SC2.

Poor people risking themselves on unofficial sources buying items for real money and ruining the game for everyone. Now, instead of enforcing the rules, Blizzard will just legalize and handle the sells themselves in a safe way.
I'm sure the next patch of Starcraft 2 will follow this trend make it possible to securely buy maphacks because too many people are being scammed or getting viruses trying to get it from unofficial sources.

I'll put up with all the shit coming out now, but a subscription fee on top of everything would push it over the edge for me

All the rage is entertaining but ...
WHEN DOES THE BETA START!?
|

|
Basically softcore players can buy and sell gold directly from the auction house, while hardcore players will have to buy and sell gold on the black market. I see my self making money by selling softcore gold and buying hardcore gold with that money.

haha. Considering many of them are ex diablo developers that was actually fun.

This doesnt even make sense when you use an ounce of logic.
Announce auction house + rumors of subscription for SC2 (when these rumors ended up being entirely false) = OMG D3 WILL HAVE A SUBSCRIPTION
Wait, what? No, it doesnt work that way!

They are ruining D3 with no stats/attributes/skill points and real money Auction House.

Some of these changes are just simply disappointing. I feel like between stat/skill allocation being removed leveling has become greatly trivialized. Sure you still increase in power, but it just doesn't feel right to have nothing to assign when you level. I also am not a huge fan of the theoretical new rune system.
I have not read anything that indicates that skill point allocation would be removed, and in fact I have seen images of skill trees for D3, so on this one point I feel like you're perpetuating an unsubstantiated rumor. (Although it doesn't look like you're doing so on purpose.) I have read several posts from Bashiok on the D3 forums that would seem to suggest you are dead wrong here, such as this one where he confirms that there is no plan for skill synergies: http://forums.battle.net/thread.html?topicId=16474156292&pageNo=2&sid=3000#25I feel your pain about stat allocation being removed, but that's honestly the only discouraging news I've heard from this game, and I seriously wish that you people would stop talking shit about a game you've never even played. I would encourage posters of this thread to look back at some of the things they've posted objectively. Some of you are just whiners, and there's nothing TL can do about it. You will wine about anything and everything. It doesn't matter what Blizzard does, they could tell you D3 is going to ship with a free penis enlarger and you guys would make posts like: "I did the math, and I'm not sure if size matters or not, clearly this is Blizzard trying to perpetuate myths about penis size so they can collect money from my therapist." One of the posts I read in this thread literally said "All of the new classes are lame." Followed shortly by "I'm going to make a monk so I can slap some demons." I didn't want to quote you buy name because that's an embarrassingly dumb thing to say, but I honestly hope you will read this and make some adjustments to your attitude.
dude please read! that post from bashiok is from '09 pleaseplaese read something it doesnt matter at this point what you read actually everything will help you.
