has anyone heard details on the leveling system? I know its supposed to be different from other mmos but I'm way behind on my game details, hoping for info during e3 well it seems similar to FFXI so far from vids ive seen, FFXIV will also sport a larger more hardcore community behind it. Don't beleive me, look at ffxi.clopedia.org, ffxiah.com or google bluegartrsls. Also, to be clear, I am Blademage of Alexander server.. and i miss my elv 75 sam 75 cor 75 pld. (200 merits just for e-peen) Q.Q Oh my God Blue Garter is still around?? I was playing with those guys back in... jesus, 2004?? I ended up switching to WoW when a bunch of them (berticusrex, amarok) jumped ship. What a community.
yep still around and talking about x-hit sets with max haste setups for tp and what makes what ws/spell/heal/debuff/dot ect. hit harder/better. I mainly used them to confirm what i already knew but it helped a lot when i went for cor, a job i knew nothing about. luls
either way, hoping for a beta key or some new info on FFXIV.

i got an email from square yesterday inviting me to the alpha and later beta test.
the site for download is down right now. email says it will start on the 9th of june.
i guess there will be a NDA but if not i can post some pics and thoughts out of the game here.

Everyone knows FFXI wasn't going to be everyone's cup of tea. The first time leveling through the starter areas, onto Valkurm, Qufim, Kazham etc was indeed boring but if you got to level 50, you know that the game really does pick up about that time.
The game was the hardest MMO I have ever played, but its complexity added to its value greatly. In combat, mathematics and decision making are crucial, one mistake can kill the entire party which can drop up to an hours worth of experience gained, you gotta be good to play it!
With regards FFXIV, it's gonna be sweet. The combat in alpha does look quite boring but SE have stated that their going to revamp the entire system for beta, still a while to go in development yet.
I wont be expecting WoW-numbers of players to flock to the game, thats just not what kind of game it is. But it does result in a much higher standard of player in the end and not just some game anyone can get to max-level with next to no gear or skill.

Ever since the announcement I've been trying to sign up for the beta, but to no avail. The site keeps finding new and unique ways to not accept my application, the message at the moment is something like, "wrong region selected". Of course, I've taken every care at every stage of the application process to select my region.
I've even emailed SE about this, but they never responded.

Cool! great find! Signed up and im really excited about this! hopefully this can be fun while sc2 beta is down!
|
That was like the most detailed registration process I've ever been through,
DO YOU OWN A FANSITE? there is no answer for no!.

Hey guys I'm a big MMO fan and I haz to participate in this thread! Lol
Yeah the game has been announced since last last year? or maybe just 2009. I was real excited at first but things have died down for me. I'm more anxious in waiting for the Korean MMO "Vindictus" or "Tera" or "Blade and Soul".
Anyways here's a little informative article about Final Fantasy 14 Beta, check it out!
"The Japanese SquareEnix's online game Final Fantasy XIV is criticized by crowds of players in Japan for characterless combats. Players claim to be tired with the in-game combats that are not exciting and the characters performing unimpressive actions."

Is tarutaru still playable? In ff11, I had a taru mnk and rdm with full AF2 it was so much, but it doesn't matter how high lvl you are and how deck out gear you have, there is always a bunny somewhere that can kick your ass in ff11 haha
|
There are no more bunnies. Just kitties now.

grats to the guys who got hit by the recent wave of invites.. me too please

just made up some stuff and googled some addresses, hopefully i'll still be able to get in. hopefully they'll send you the game DVD by mail... gee, no one of you ever participated in a MMO beta? I've been in 20-30 MMORPG betas, and I've been mailed discs exactly once that I can remember. That was Sony's Planetside back in 2002. No one I've heard of mails CDs/DVDs anymore: there's no point when most everyone has a 5mbit+ connection, especially with torrents. i had a CD sent for ryzom... and they could do it because it's just fucking BALLER to do this.

I got a beta invite for this. :D Perfect for the end of the SC2 beta. Going to be playing this all summer. :D

Just curious, how did you guys finish the beta application? The final question asks me what kind of fansite I own, and there isn't any option for "none." Should I just pick "other" and hope they don't call me out on it?
|
Did the PS3 one start yet?
|
omfg it started already? i remember signing up... now im not so sure i finished it properly... oh well guess il wait for release, my bank account belongs to square enix.
anyone know if we have better chances by registering our FF XIII online?
|
I submitted my beta application a week ago. Might be too late.
