I've been in 20-30 MMORPG betas, and I've been mailed discs exactly once that I can remember. That was Sony's Planetside back in 2002. No one I've heard of mails CDs/DVDs anymore: there's no point when most everyone has a 5mbit+ connection, especially with torrents.

what i dont get is after selecting canada it still says i must put a ZIP CODE in, we don't have a zip code usually forms know that after a person has selected canada to grey out the damn ZIP CODE portion..

I'm not gonna lie, I'm really torn between this and The Old Republic, leaning more towards ff14 just because I love the world of final fantasy and have never really been into star wars, but both look really good.

has anyone heard details on the leveling system? I know its supposed to be different from other mmos but I'm way behind on my game details, hoping for info during e3

I'm looking into TOR as well. Whichever one is released first is what I'll play. =( Both look good. But like Monion said, I love the FF world and I want to give this a shot.

shame its a pve mmo, i never understood the reason for playing a mmo that doesnt have pvp. TOR on the other hand if i remember correctly will have pvp so if ur torn btw those 2 games it rly come down to pve vs pvp

This will be a massive graphics whore and eventually a grind fest as bad as the last FF mmo. Still reserving judgement for TOR, but I've already given up on the idea of any good FF mmo.

honestly i find pve far better in a mmo. pvp is like impossible to balance with all those classes and skills and i would only get angry from it.

anyone got some new gameplay videos? i found some from early 2009 and the game looked incredibly slow. i would fall asleep every fight. hope they make it a little more intense.

well it seems similar to FFXI so far from vids ive seen, FFXIV will also sport a larger more hardcore community behind it. Don't beleive me, look at ffxi.clopedia.org, ffxiah.com or google bluegartrsls.

Also, to be clear, I am Blademage of Alexander server.. and i miss my elv 75 sam 75 cor 75 pld. (200 merits just for e-peen) Q.Q

agreed on your pve point

there's really not a lot of fighting gameplay other than trailers, and then they had a trailer where a toon was just walking around doing like day to day shit (supposedly)

Yeah, if I want to directly compete against other players in a video game, I'd much rather play Starcraft (2) or a first person shooter. At least there the winner is determined entirely by skill and not by character decisions made years prior, time spent farming gear, or whoever gets luckier with the random number generator. However, I do like pvp purely as a dispute resolution mechanism and always choose to play on pvp servers if the game has them.
