So there are multiple servers and no way to pick which one you create on. When you first get into the game, it'll say Welcome to XXX in the chat window.

Didn't they learn from FFXI about that? Ugg, one nail in... I hope I get in at some point, definitely starting on server Kefka, possibly the most evil of all the FF baddies.

I'm on Kefka. They've said there won't be world passes for ff14 so hopefully the random server placement is just for beta purposes.

Holy crap the downloader blows, at most it goes up to 55 kb/s but usually just stays around 18.
Really not sure if I can be arsed.

I had problems with the down loader at first too. Would only connect to two local connections and no remote connections, I couldn't even get 55 kb/s. I opened up some ports and port forwarded them and everything speed up after that. Might work for you.

Yea mine sucks too >.< it hovers between 10 and 100kbs when im dling, which is very rare because it crushes my net and can't really use it for anything else when its dling

i got in US and it F*CKING long to down load the 12-7 patch... using university internet (which should beat anything except military)

apparently i have 3 local connections with 0 download speed and 800kp up load while im at 0%... time remaining 72 hours+..................
