I refuse to play a FF online. Leave continuous pay for WoW players.

When I think FF i think FF 2/7/8/9. Even 10/10-2/12, i have yet to play 13 but I have only heard good things. I want an epic Oscar-level story, with incredible graphics and gameplay. All loaded on a beautiful unique soundtrack.

I don't want to pay money to grind....

The story line for ffxi was pretty good. Theres 3 separate ones for each town then a ton of other quests and then the expansion story lines. Yea there was alot of grind but the world was huge, the first year of playing was amazing. It goes down hill after things get mainstreamed and a line of doing things gets created. I'd say it was worth my time and money for the first two years. After that not so much.

The benchmark for FF14 is out on the site, I got a measly 3900

"capable of running the game on default settings" sighh Q8300 with a gtx275

Is the beta for this game worth the hassle? I heard from a friend that it's not often online and very specific areas are open when it is?

I got my beta acces a month or so ago but haven't tried it.

When I think final fantasy, I think of good ones like tactics, 6, 9, not one like 8.

I also think final fantasy online, because I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Ive been able to log in 3 times since getting my beta key. Nothing impressive about the game really. Dont plan on ever touching it again o.O

I actually liked the game quite a bit. I played the closed beta for a few weeks before they began the open beta. It was interesting playing the game while being under the NDA. So I was playing the game before it was even shown at E3. The game can be quite graphically heavy. With the settings we had (we were forced to have it on max), the game was amazing.

Only unique aspect was using a gamepad. I had never used a controller for an mmorpg before until the CB. It simply plays better then with a keyboard and mouse.

theres an open beta? mind directing me to it? i have been trying to get in for a while and can't find it.

The benchmark crashes when it tries to run on my computer... I'll take that as a bad signal.

Oh my bad, I thought they had switched to open yet. I have been busy so I have not had the time to play it. But as the game is currently, it is still far better then how it was before. When I was playing it, we had a specified time we can play. And during that time, all the testers would be on, the lag was so bad. But yes, the 2nd phase of beta ends August 25, while the Open Beta begins early September.

I didn't play really 2nd phase of the beta so I was under the impression it would be Open Beta, but I was mistaken. But regardless, even if you do not like the Online series, you must give them credit. The game looks absolutely amazing. The movements are very nice and smooth.

I read that SE will implement 'fatigue' system where prolonged play will give you some sort of penalty, which is ridiculous.

How Square has fallen since FFX.....
