Only LN I have read that are comparable in size to normal books have been the Horizon ones. Well normal fantasy books at least which are 400+.
yeah that. I haven't actually read the source on Mahouka so I can't tell if that carries over to JP but I think it would just take me plain longer to get through one vol for various reasons.
I feel like the actual amount of pages isn't all that much different, with Saekano being at ~200 (the one I have), KonoSuba maybe ~250 and Maou-sama at ~350? It's just that you have way less information per page because it's so tiny.
Usually i don't enjoy ecchi themes but KonoSuba managed to make an ecchi themed episode so goddamn hilarious.
So the episode begins with a
HAHAHAHAHAHA
Looks like kazumi-san is going to secret little shop called the "brothel" and get those "nice dreams".
Oh so when they meant "dream" it wasn't a euphemism for anything it was actually a dream. What a service from succubis lol
Kazuma's 2d "dreams" are real
Oi oi Kazuma-san your inner lolicon is popping out lol (it's not lolicon damn konosuba is so misleading he actually meant an older woman like with the mature vibes)
loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool
Kazuma learned a new skill
Oh no kazumi is faced with a dilemma. A test perhaps where he has to choose between having fun with his teammates and forgetting about the dream he signed up with the succubi's since drinking too much will prevent the succubi dreams to happen.
Will he succumb to the temptation of the succubi's or the power of true friendship will prevail? What will he do ?
LMAO kazuma pls
After that just went crazy funny. Kazuma thought he fell asleep in the bathtub and thinking that darkness was the one was sent to his dream and of course since it's darkness shit turned into so much misunderstanding lol
But of course nothing ever goes smoothly even if darkness didn't come in and kazuma dosed off since
Aqua is actually godtier (seriously though if aqua isn't an idiot she should be so broken with max stats) evil extinguisher so the little succubi will be caught lol. Regardless Kazumi still wouldn't have the "nice dream" even without the darkness misunderstanding shinanegans.
HAHAHAHHAHA Kazuma what a god
Even for an ecchi episode, konosuba managed to make this into a pretty hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing at later parts of the episode and when kazumi first entered the succubi office.
Suprisingly this episode ended without a scene where Aqua begging on Kazuma. Seems like the next episode is a serious one.
Question is RikkaMegumin actually a kid since they don't allow her to drink alcohol? or are they just making fun of her size ?
couple things: 1) the spell he "learned", they didn't quite explain the first time around. Remember the water creation spell? That's the same and it's basicly "lv 0 elemental-magic". So basic that most mages don't even learn it because it does no damage. I think it covers 4 spells: Fire, Water, Wind, Earth... but as I say that he also did freeze stuff so maybe it was 5. 2) He WAS actually referring to underage girls in the shop. 3) Megumin is 13 years old during vol1-3. Vol 4 has her as 14 years old. In case you're wondering: Darkness is 18, Aqua has no age because goddess and all but said to be around the same age as Kazuma and he's 16. Wiz would be 20.
I bet he took the basic fire magic due to almost freezing lol. Oh yeah i think i read from spoilers somewhere that Kazuma and Aqua is technically around the same age since Aqua's age in goddess years is like kazuma's in human years.
I also didn't know that KonoSuba's author is female. That must be why despite being an ecchi episode it has different focus which is refreshing and entertaining.
Also is it just me or even the succubi has similar look as Eris.
nah as far as I know it isn't "basic fire magic" but just "basic magic". So that one skill he took when he got the water pistol actually gave him all 5 elemental basic spells already. They just didn't show them or explain that.
idk about the succubi, but the loli succubus was the cutest thing in the world. That voice, that look.

Horizon are not really comparable to normal books either,
LN pages depends a lot of format, dialogue heavy ones tends to have inflated page count due to shorter sentence and one sentence paragraphs. For example F/Z has lower page count than Konosuba even though word count is a lot higher.
Wordwise Konosuba is about average on length. Mahouka as well but it has a couple really long volumes. Overlord was really long, on par with monogatari, also comparable are maoyuu, owari no chronicle prior to last vol, and Bento of all things. (all these are still less than half of horizon length on average)

I like that everyone in the lns are like awed by how well he uses those basic spells. After the part where + Show Spoiler +
he switched parties for a day I get the sense that everyone in this world is highly incompetent in some way lol.

yeah, people were quite pissed that they didn't include that in the anime actually. I always wondered if the smug guy was one out of Keith / Dust, can't remember that lol. But I think I saw someone say so on MAL. And they're a fair amount more important in the story than what the anime makes it look like I think.
was them scouting out a dungeon already in ln2 as welll? Must have been since that's basicly what triggered the succubus event we saw last episode, right?

I guess because I haven't gotten to the succubus part yet but I have read the dungeon part. Btw do they do more with the succubi or is that it for their involvemrnt?
I'm still left at vol4 since I'm currently back to struggling through Tsukimonogatari and if I can't take that anymore I go back to Maou-sama atm, so can't tell for later on but so far no. I mean, other than the obvious one you're not yet at that I really don't want to mention.
Well, today I made the trek into Chicago and saw Kizumonogatari. General impression, I liked it. The CGI was a bit off here and there, and some of the settings didn't seem to match the TV anime settings that well (to say nothing, of course, of this story not being the same as the flashbacks in the TV anime) but I did enjoy it. Laughs were had by most of the audience at various parts. + Show Spoiler +
Particularly during Hanekawa meeting Araragi, the "You have friends?" retort
Was worth the drive and $12 I think; then again, I also wandered through Graceland so the trip was pretty nice overall.
No surprise Kuga lost. Hmm, to be honest I can only see Hyuse joining the team. Who else would there be? And he's at the Tamakoma house all the time and is probably a strong addition. Though it'd probably be quite the scandal if he joins them, haha.

Kay. Maybe I'll decide to watch some more episode later.
hyyp... wait that's just 50 secs clips from the anime... Anyways it's not vol8 like people mentioned, it's going to be an original story. At least they showed Tatsuya ninja-chopping people apart which was already hilarious in the anime. So I'll give them that.
Did they ever fully flesh out the story of him becomming known as that "demon"? I know it was mentioned and I'm fairly sure they had some short story on that... Was that the one with loli hayamin in okinawa and him taking out the ships with the... idk 4-5 bullets? Or am I mixing things up now? Has been a while but it sounds to me like they want to do that as a new story

He's been watching each of their games and has had some similar thoughts to Osamu. Plus, he seems to be getting along more with them but I have a hard time seeing Osamu being the captain if he somehow joins them. It also makes me wonder if he got back his trigger or what he gained after Jin lost his bet (pretty sure he wanted to lose it haha).
I thought it was gonna go boring at some point but the pacing was almost perfect. Compelling the whole way through. The world building was absolutely amazing, with all the little details that contributed to it. The world as a whole also emanates a strong vibe of mysticism, mystery and adventure and is full of wonders. We had a lot of crazy theories about how the world was build, how it worked and what happened that developed throughout the course of the movie. I think this is a really great sign for a movie that sets its focus on a mystery of a world.
I also really liked the balance of the world building and the personal story of the characters. Although there was tension all the way through as well as a strong sense of corruptness, it was a completely light-hearted movie. Also pretty cute, but not overly so. They did a good job at balancing this as well.
All in all I loved it. It's almost a 9/10 for me but it barely didn't make the mark because of some rather trivial things in certain scenes. So a very strong 8/10, would definitely recommend to someone that wants to watch a rather light-hearted adventure/mystery movie.

It's well done (can't believe it's Deen doing this) but not my thing. I'm glad I stuck with it just to watch it but I don't get much entertainment out of it. The latest episode was quite decent in this regard though.
