But I really hate that so many shows recently release just a part of the season or end the season without finishing a single arc. Frieren - ended on a cliffhanger. Fate strange/Fake - ended on a cliffhanger. RtW - ended on a cliffhanger. It seems like the seasons are basically cut in half ![]() Didnt Frieren finish that arc and the cliffhanger was the next arc? Its either we have a lower ep season with a smaller arc with start and ending(frieren) but have them release it every year or have a longer season that encompasses a larger story but we gotta wait 2years for it

Last season was a let down for me. Not a lot I remember and only kept up with a few. In the Clear Moonlit Dusk was fantastic. This season: Mao, Daemons of the Shadow Realm, Iruma-kun, Slime, Dr Stone and a few others are on my watchlist.

Nippon sangoku - extremely unique Artstyle and genre. Snowball earth - i have high expectation from studio kai. Hideaki anno seems to like it as well. Witch hat - the manga drawings is so detailed, anime is doing a good job. Issue is the plot is quite slow, and I kinda worried the wait for season 2 will simply kill any hype. The manga hasn't really moved the plot much imo. You no tsugi - definitely one of my top list this season. Only thing is the story lacks the depth of full metal alchemist so far.

IMO even if you ignore the plot Witch Hat is worth watching purely for the animation quality/spectacle. Very few anime ever get to this level. The world-building there and intrigue are rather interesting too so there's that.

I feel like summer is quite stacked though, isn't it? I have a number of shows I'm at least planning to try, which hasn't happened in a while. I watched the first episodes of: - World is Dancing (ok'ish first episode, unsure where this is headed yet) - Nijusseiki Denki Mokuroku: Eureka Evrika (was good, especially some really interesting, artistic visual choices) - Sayonara Lara (Wasn't bad but I'm probably going to drop it. Gave me Disney vibes. Probably a couple more episodes because the first episode was just a prologue.) - Tenmaku no Jaadugar (very good first episode!) Then there is a couple more coming up: the new Ghost in the Shell series, which I'm actually excited for for a change, and Kimi ga Shinu made Koi wo Shitai, which I will at least give a try.

New GitS is very different from the Oshii movies and SAC. Supposedly this is much closer to how the manga was, but I've never read it. Ep 1 was pretty decent, so I'm hopeful about this one. World is Dancing is interesting. I'm not 100% sold on the subject, but it's visually striking at least.

I have watched the first GitS episode and liked it a lot. I just felt the amount and manner of goofiness was a bit too much for me. I don't mind some goofiness. SAC had some of it but it was more integrated and felt naturally comedic instead of set on top. In the new show you have mostly faces and childish behaviour/jokes about sex, which don't really fit imho. However, given that I have a strong bias towards the characters in the original movies and especially SAC, I think it's a good sign I still enjoyed it despite of that.

First seasons had a bit of a rough start with a lot of unnecessary exposition dumps in the opening episodes but it got really good. S2 got real dark real quick too. Overall a good show. Some other stuff I'm checking out this season:
